  1. Well, the day is fast approaching when we will move into our house near Beaver Lake, which is next Tuesday March 31. Hopefully I can get a truck, boat and fishing license so I can get on the lake on Saturday along with my son and some grandchildren. I have fished most of my life for PA stream trout and bass in the Susquehanna River. Also I fished in Canadian, Minnesota, and Wisconsin lakes. Just to say that I am excited to be able to fish regularly in a lake the quality of Beaver with the side benefits of being able to go a short distance to Table Rock or Grand. Pretty amazing actually. Ozark Anglers is a great resource and I have enjoyed reading your inputs/responses/bits of information and, of course, your good-hearted banter on the forums; and I feel better prepared to tackle Beaver because of it. I am looking to meeting some of you in person. I will be fishing by myself, so if any of you would like a fishing buddy some time, I am available.
  2. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Tomorrow we will look at homes around the lake with a realtor. I like your idea of not limiting to Beaver Lake. My wife too requires more than Wal Mart, well so do I and that is why we are here after looking at Lake Dardanelle. So, hopefully in a couple of months I can hit the water and perhaps tie up with a couple of you to go fishing. Any more suggestions would still be appreciated. Ron
  3. Wow, you guys are terrific, but on one hand you make Beaver Lake sound like a fisherman's paradise and on the other hand you make it sound like a hard lake to catch bass on but not impossible. The reports of huge amounts of bait fish in the lake foretells on a good future for fishing. Anyway I am excited to be thinking about moving to Beaver lake and for more reasons than fishing. You guys seem like good people and I look forward to meeting you. Ron
  4. Thanks so much for your prompt and insightful comments. It has given me a better understanding of the lake and nearby area. Perhaps when I get relocated we can wet some lines togeather.
  5. My wife are moving from PA to Beaver Lake AR to be near our 4 above average grandchildren. So far, we like houses from 2 general areas on the western side of the lake. One area is from the RT 412 Bridge to Hickory State Park and the other area is from Prairie Creek Park to Rocky Point State Park. So from you that fish the lake, which area is better fishing? Or should I look more carefully at another area of the lake so that I can live near some of the best fishing, or doesn't it much matter because there is good fishing nearly everywhere? I will fish for a variety of fish: the 4 basses; crappies; walleyes; and catfish.
