Hi All,
I'm fairly new to trout fishing (grew up bass fishing in Alabama) and I just recently found this site. Seems to be lots of good stuff here! I've fished the current maybe a dozen times this winter and am now fully addicted. It's such a beautiful river and the fishing is great.
Anyway, just thought I'd share a brief report from Saturday (1/24). Hope it's helpful.
I fished all day from below Baptist to the edge of the park and back. The bite was steady throughout the day, with more browns than usual. I probably landed 15 or so total with a few nice fish late in the day. A #16 gray scud behind a #6 or #8 pat's rubber legs seemed to be the ticket...also hooked a few on a zebra midge. I worked a large streamer through a few of the deeper runs with no success.
My biggest brown of the day was nothing to write home about, but he did get airborne a few times after I first hooked up. I brought him in pretty quickly after that and he swam off looking strong.
Hope you are all enjoying the nice weather and have a chance to get out somewhere.
