I actually lived and worked at The Lodge on Whitney Mountain back in the late 80s for 3 years. I remember 24 inches of snow on March 17 1989 Saint Patrick's Day

The challenge is one of the great things I love about this lake. That and there are so many different areas to it. It is 11 miles to Lost Bridge ramps for me. Where I lived in MN it was an hour and 15 minutes to water and the best was the river so I am loving this. With a 19.5 foot fiberglass boat with a 200 hp on the back I am some what picky about a dock where I put in. It has its share of scratches from the river but I try not to make more. Thanks everyone Dave

Thanks J doc I live and work out in the Garfield area. I put in the last really nice day we had last month at PC and fished down past HC. I do want to learn all of the lake but the north end is the most convenient for me. I fished to much all bundled up in MN so I have had all the cold weather fishing I care to see. As long as I am on the water its a good day for me. if any fish make it in the boat that makes it all the better.
  4. Hi I just found this site about a month ago, really nice place. I grew up here in NW AR. Then moved away in 1991 After spending 22 years in MN I got sick of the unreasonably cold winters and moved back about 1.5 years ago The most important thing to me I brought back home with me was my boat. I got really interested in fishing in MN so I am having to learn how to fish deeper here. In MN I mostly fished the Mississippi River when it wasn't froze over the water temp or depth was never to the point you needed to fish deep. I have found a lot of useful information here. I have mostly fished for Bass. I have a 2003 ranger 195vs. I love to catch and release any kind of fish I can and look forward to learning more about stripers. Thanks for the great site Dave
