First time checking out this thread. Wow ya'll should have your own cookin show. Little to fancy for me, but it all looks good. Don't think i have the skills in the kitchen to make any of that. Makes my supper tonight of fried wild turkey breast and morels look like poor folk food. Haha

Nice reprot. Sounds like a great trip you salvaged on crowded waters. Nice job finding them in another location. That shows your a fisherman and not just a spawn chaser that plays bumber boats over one spot.

That was great of you to help them get on fish and make a memorable trip for those men.

This time of yr its hard to beat a lizard and a jig for me. Not a crankbait fisher for bass so can't help ya there. Im with hammer about the spinnerbaits on windy banks. If you want to get some good target's to flip or pitch run up turkey, maze, turnback, birch, or price. Fav color solft plastic Green Pumpkin and Watermelon candy. Worms red shad and tequila sunrise. Jig color about any. Good luck. Will be watching for your post.

Use to be called country depot. Yes it was kinda trashy. Its called Sac And Sons now. The same people that own Sac And Sons off 32 bought the store and reopened it. Nice clean store, nice people, good minnows and decent tackle/ junk food selection. They store campers and boats also. Highly recommend stopping there for minnows unclefish is right they give you your money's worth of minners.

Any eggs or sperm sack in them fish?

The big crop field on west side is MDC owned. The access trail is kinda iffy for me to say weather or not private or state owned. I always park off west side of road by crop field and cut across it following power lines to river. Its a straight shot across flat ground till the drop at edge of field. On the far west end of drop theres a nice path with very little grade that heads to river through a small scrub field. Screw the steep climb out on the acess road this way us much easier walking with a limit of whites. Plus your on state lands the whole way. Thay cant say anything about you trasspassing. I have been fishing the river my whole life and never had one bit of trouble in that location. Its a shame pepole are so trashy and disrespectful to property but it is what it is.

Everyone has prob chased ol wise tales about where and when to find morels. I know i did starting out as a rookie shroom hunter. Not every block of timber or Property will have them. They are kinda picky about ahere they come up. Im no biologist or scientist this is my ways of finding morels. I start with searching the timber looking at the trees. Im looking up more than down. I look for spoth with ash ash and black oaks. In the areas and properties I hunt they are the best targets for me. There's not many elm poplar or apple trees so i narrowed it down to these 2 trees. I have found them in feilds around walnut trees and close to creeks on sacamore trees. I key on south facing early in season and north later. Thick canopy forest later also. 3 to 4 days after rain i hit the woods but temps have to hold also. When the lows at night are in mid 50s and highs are 65+ I know its time. Small morels...i have been told when they pop they dont grow anymore. BS they will grow for several days as long as conditions are right. If you find some fresh smalls and you can leave them and come back and get them in a few days. I Have done this and its the truth. Again guys this is just my experiences not the only way or ways on morels. I wanted to share some GOOD HONEST info on finding morels. I would love to hear from other shroomers on finding morels and other wise tails debunked. If willing to share. I do great on the properties i hunt but struggle in far northern and southern MO. Thanks for reading and good luck to all.

Thanks guys. Was worried till that trip. Have been finding 8-15 every trip but usually i get mega hauls outta those private land spots. You would be surprised how many lqnd owners will let you shroom hunt and sharing the haul just seals the deal for years to come. One man i hunt on is elderly and can't roam the woods anymore he calls me now wanting me to hunt his property so he can get a mess 2. Haha. It takes alot to ask at first but wont ever know till ya ask. Good luck guys... go get em.

Hit them good today after turkey hunting. Found them on an Ash flat on south facing ridge. Did find a few stragglers on Black Oaks half way up the ridge. They had been up a while. Glad we got them before they too dry. Gave 35 to land owner and theres 97 in pic. Found some real giants. Location The woods Dade county. Good luck there up and have been for a while. Go get em boys!

Stringers are a good idea...that would work. I like my little push button counter though. Drop him in the box and hit the button. Super simple witch is best for me anyways.haha.

Top water hybrids
slab slinger replied to blacknoseddace's topic in Truman Tailwater/Upper Osage River
Still a littleearly for the top water bite to blow up. June has been my best TW month on the hybrids but everyones prob got their own fav time. Its mainly all about generation release or high water spilling over spillway. If they're discharging alot of water the bit will be good on the hybrids. Good luck. It'll take ya a few trips to figure them out but when it all comes together its a blast. -
Bass guys...Why so much time on main lake right now? Why ain't ya in the creek arms with warm water and the spawners? Don't chase green fish much anymore but thats where i would be. Maybe ya'll got something figured out that i never did.

Good report. Nice fish bud.

With all the fast action and limits this time of yr a guy can get himself in trouble without knowing it. I had to go get me a fish counter cause im the worlds worst on remembering how many i got in the box. I don't the warden would believe me it was A mistake miss counting the fish. Haha. Wow its up to $75 a fish now! Ill definitely be keeping track better now.
