  1. Depends on water color. Stained or muddy water gold blades. Clear or stained water crome blades. Thats pretty much in stone. Skirt colors will just cause an on going debate. I go chart or chart/white murky water. Clear i like smoke/purple white and stain remover WarEagles. They make the best SB my opinion. I used to build my own SB and WarEagle uses top notch components the swivels clasps hook and skirts are the best on market. Plus they are made in Rodgers,Arkansas and not China or somewhere overseas. An oldtimer told me to always spin the wind no wind no fish (on spinnerbaits) cant deny always worked for me.
  2. North on 123 over Aldrich Bridge turn left on Angle Rd at fork go straight road ends at water Coffman Branch.
  3. Sorry dont know how to highlight a comment And post with my comment below. Im Green to posting and how site works.
  4. Thanks SRJ. When the back of sons gets hot I'll take your advice and dump boat at 39 instead of the run.
  5. Thanks SRJ! You seem seasoned on stockton. Have seen that ramp on google earth never launched there. What kinda slope/Shape is it in? How tricky is the run from roark west to 39 bridge? I havent went past the timber bank on the right. You know the one that looks awsome just passed greaser and there's stick ups like crazy on the left across from it. Hows the run from there on to 39?
  6. Saw several bassers yesterday slingin JB and CB on secondary points in adout every cove in sons googer and everywhere in between looked like a solid pattern for as many to be doing the same thing.
  7. I dont bass fish much anymore but used to be ate up with it. Got 2 kids and wife that love to eat fish so mainly target crappie walleye and whites. Ok so cedar ridge down to aldrich was always good for me. If you like to flip pitch turkey creek will keep you busy all day. All of sons was productive for me and chicken rock to greenfield ramp good also. Flip/Pitch birch branch. Summer target deep brush with jig/trialer and 10" worms tex rig. MDC has numerous marked piles if you dont have any out yourself. Just pick an area and commit yourself to knowing it and follow patterns that are working to another area you'll do fine. Thats about all i know but not a bass guro anymore. Hope this helps ya.
  8. Im sure all that troll flicks on stockton fish wont bite Purple Tiger color
  9. Thanks SRJ im greatful for any info/advive on finding crappie this early in spring. Usually chase whites or JB the dam for walleye and wait for crappie to start stacking up and staging for the spawn. It showed yesterday that they weren't There at least For me. struggle to find fish not knowing where to look main lake was out atleast for me in my little boat. 175B polar. Kraft w 60hp yam. Any Advice willing to share on early slabs would be greatly aappreciated.
  10. I usually hit rip rap around bridges during spawn. Worm or liver 3 ft under bobber close to rip rap gets fast action on channe cats. Spring Summer ater hard rain hit backs of creeks where water is running into arm and fish worms liver or cut shad. Tore them up for years following hard rains bank fishing turkey, maze, turnback bridges. Limb line up big and little sac rivers with black perch nice flatheads up both rivers during summer months. Know guys that kill'em drifting flats with shad. Dont know much about that but bitethis could probably line ya out on it. Do most of my catfishin now on truman more big blues up that way. Good luck hope this helps.
  11. Was fishing around birch branch today got confronted by MDC boat thought it was rutein license and live well chec check. Wrong. He was conducting an on water anglers SerServey. Asked guestions and wrote down answers rate todays fishing 1-10...how many fish caught...live baitor artificial...The kicker was whats your openion to lowering Spotted Bass (Kentucky) length limit to 12in. And would you keep them at that length. Not really a bass fisherman but i didnt think there were that many spots in Stockton Lake?
  12. Thanks guys. Hope we can help one another get on'em this year! Im no pro but i keep meat in the freezer. Grew up fishing and hunting Stockton Lake. I'll do mybest answering questions and always give honest reports.
  13. Im no pro at trolling cranks but the flicker shad has brought me home many a limit of crappie and walleye during and arfer the spawn. Trol. known spawning coves 20-30 fow female crappie will be suspended/staging 10-15 FD. You'll be catching the slab females when everyone else is beating the banks weeding through shorts. Dont get me wrong i'll beat banks some during spawn but i would rather leave males to guard his nest and focus on the females who may or may not lay her eggs.
  14. Took outta Roark west this morning headed to Birch Branch area. marked a few fish in 30 FOW sususpended 15-20 FD rigged through them got bit quick 11 in crappie then missed one caught 3 more keeper crappie and 3 white bass. Thought we had them figured out. I was giving my trolling motor and battery a workout trying to stay on the fish. Thought we could do better at another location or at least get outta wind. Ran to greeser to windy, ran to googer to windy fished a little in between no bites. Water temp was 48 almost everywhere we went. Didnt go to back of creeks though. Long story short 4 keeper crappie 3 whites lots of wind lots of searching for fishable water. Hope ya'll slayed'em today we sure didn't.
  15. Spring: 1/16 oz. Red head smoke/ purple fleck swimming minnow 1/16 oz. Road runner all gray if you can find them. I tye my own. SUMMER: troll flicker shad size 7. Vertical fish match head weight to wind conditions i start with 1/16 oz and have used up to 1/4 oz on windy days. Chart glow southern pro super jig (tube). FALL: 1/16 oz head Bobby Garland baby shad thread fin shad color.
  16. I have been reading posts on OA fourms for a while as a non member and figured its time to join in as a member. I have alot of respect for ya'll for sharing info with members as well as the browsers like i was. Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for saving my trips when i couldn't come up with my own plan on the water.
  17. I usually start with 4 rods (one has to be labled) to find the fish. After i find fish i mark them, go to 2 or 3 rods and go back through them. You have to be lightning fast to keep up with anymore than 3 rods when your on fish and their bitting.
  18. I spider rig quite often and have been checked by wardens. I have been legal every time. Each angler is allowed 3 poles each With no more than 3 hooks per pole. Any poles after 3 have to be labled with name, address, phone # or just your conservation # on your license wich is what i do. To give prospective you can fish with 33 rods with 1 hook per rod as long as 30 rods are labled And be legal. Spider rigging is perfectly legal in Mo. As long as you lable rods have no more than 3 hooks per rod and have no more than 33 hooks in water per angler in boat. Hope this helps.
