  1. I have never been on the upper end of the kings (plan to this year) but floated the lower sections a handful of times. 62 bridge can get crazy crowded on the weekends, but they are making some changes to the parking. They have made a parking lot right off of the hwy and dont allow you to drive down to the gravel bar like before. Not a deal breaker but you will have to tote your gear a little farther. Maybe it will help with the crowding. I have caught a couple decent fish down river of 62 but mostly smaller ones.. And yes, the access at 86 has been blocked. As of Tuesday, there was a sign soon as you turned off 86 right in the middle of the trail that leads down there. There's no telling why these days I hope you get to try it out! Have fun and enjoy some of God's country!
  2. Absolutely! Any time I get the chance to go out with my dad I jump on it. Good luck and be careful this weekend
  3. Sorry for the sideways pictures. Not sure what happened there!
  4. My parents camped in viola park this weekend and my wife and I visited each afternoon. Monday afternoon when we got there, it was pouring for a good 45mins to an hour. Shortly after it stopped, I decided what the heck, I'll fish a bit from the bank. 3rd cast, a 19" Kentucky ate the good ole Ned rig. That was a heck of a fight using 6lb test and light spinning tackle! The rest of the week, my father and I fished the afternoons in that area, never venturing more then a mile from camp. Best bite we had all week was a black and blue jig and pig fished on the slower side. We caught 5-10 fish each afternoon and almost all were in 5-15 FOW. The last afternoon (5-21) was rather slow, until the last hour of daylight. We were fishing a mixed gravel/rock bank with plenty of flooded bushes and some lay downs. We figured out pretty quickly that the fish were holding tight to cover in the shallows. Caught 9 fish in less then an hour, the biggest being a 19.5" LM. Smallest was a little over 15". Mix of Kentucky's and LM with 5 or so having worn out tails. My dad just had to go and catch a bigger fish then me, but I think mine weighed more!! This is my first year living close to TR and being able to fish it, and I am so thankful for it. It such a beautiful lake and very fruitful at that!
