How much will a Lilleys LT600 set you back? How does it compare to the St Croix?

What kind of gear would you suggest? I was using a Pflueger President on a 6ft Diawa spinmatic rod with Stren 4lb test line. I've been looking at a 6 ft UL St. Croix rod for jogging. What do you think?

I was down on Taneycomo last weekend and tried jig fishing for trout. I did not have any luck with a jig. I don't know if it was the weather, how I presented it or if the rod I was using wasn't sensitive enough. I could not feel it hit the bottom even in spots where I could plainly see it had gotten clear down to the bottom. Does anyone have any tips for jig fishing in moving water? My experience is in still lakes as opposed to Taneycomo.
