A lot of people don't seem to realize Springfield Lake has really great fishing. It holds some real monster bass, I've caught over at least one over 7 pounds out of it. Met a guy out there that showed me his pictures of his 9 pounder he got. Supposedly he even had a day where his best 5 weights broke 30 pounds. Last i heard a state record small mouth was found in it during some electroshock studies. I can't stress enough, if you live in/near springfield then you should be fishing there.
