  1. Hey thanks for the tips sms_alum.
  2. This weekend my family and I will be camping at meramec springs and I was wondering if anyone had fished it in the last week or so? I haven't really fished the park and this will be my first time fly fishing it so I wa a wondering what flies are recommended and and also what part or the spring would produce the moves fish. The one time I fished the park in the past I stayed down by the bridge where the spring meets the river so I want sure of further up the spring might have a few better spots. i have fished the he cardiac access a few times so I'm going to be hitting up the red ribbon area also, has anyone night fished for Browns around the park and downriver? Well thanks for any help you guys might be able to give.
  3. Awesome, I've never fished the big riverbut I am planning to head to Browns ford tomorrow morning and try to fly fish for some smallies. Does anyone know if Browns ford is a wadeable? I am bringing the waders but I wasn't sure if it was to deep for that.
  4. Thanks Geoff. Tough or not I accept the challenge, I've been skunked before. Haha. I think I'm more worried about dumb people than stray dogs. ?
  5. Hey nice to see you again Chris. Haha. I've heard that BSP can be a tough stream, but I couldn't imagine anything being more rewarding than catching a true wild trout here in Missouri. Thanks for the advice tanvat, I've heard of guys hearing shots that were a little to close for comfort.
  6. Thanks moguy1973 I hadn't seen that map before, that is super helpful.
  7. Hey thanks mic, I will have to bring some scuds along also. I am firm believer in keeping them wet, the safety of the fish is my main concern so if it too warm I'll just try later in the fall. I just thought it would be nice to get out before bow season starts taking up to much of my free time. Lol.
  8. Hey everybody, I am planing to take a whack at blue springs sometime around the end of August or the first week of September and was wondering where would be a good spot to get to the creek? I haven't been over that way but from what scouting I have done on google maps I can't seem to find a real good spot to park and access the stream. Also, I plan to bring some copper johns, a few assorted nymphs, and some small wooly buggers in olive and black. Anything else I should try? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks Al, I'll have to try to check thst out some time. Union is a little more than a hour from me so I'd like to find something a little closer if possible. My parents live in sainte Genevieve and we have a great smallmouth stream there so if I'm going to drive very far I'd probably end up heading there.
  10. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of or fished any decent small streams in the southern St. Louis area. I've done a lot of driving around scouting and plenty of looking on google earth but I can't find many places that have decently easy access. I'm target pretty much anything that bites, lol. I'd really love to find a nice spot to do some carp fishing. Well I know this is a long shot since everyone knows fisherman keep their honey holes under wraps but I figured someone might be willing to point me in the right direction. Also, has anyone fly fished the Rockford beach area for smallmouth?
  11. Sorry to revive an old thread but is anyone having any luck chasing carp with the water levels being so high? I've tried a few spots down in imperial where I'm at but only being a bank/wade fly fisher it's been tough to find anywhere decent to fish.
