  1. went out this afternoon. Coose hollow wt 80.9. Started running bank with sexy shad square bill. Had a lot chase but no bits. Water clarity was about 5 ft. Switched over to jig (pumpkin with few stands of purple). I looked for grass beneath the water that ran up to drop offs. This pattern worked as it did last week. Put the trolling mother on med and cover a lot of water. Caught 3 nice large mouths and several unders. Lost a good one at the boat but that's how it goes sometimes. It was a beutiful, afternoon on the water.
  2. It was 82 degrees yesterday
  3. Coose hollow. I threw a jig all day. I was a happy camper with the jig bite. I just don't feel good fishing in 35 ft water. Lots of activities on the water. It is good to see again
  4. Caught fish all day Saturday in 5 ft water. Mostly large mouth. Had the lake to myself until the sun came out. Saw stripers feasting in back of coves. The lake is coming back to life.
  5. I saw one launching at PC Friday. He was having engine troubles. I was happy on the inside lol.
  6. i used 20oz marine carpet from bass boat seats.com. I kinda reversed engineered the whole thing. About half way through the project I thought I made a mistake by taking it on lol. I was going to fix it up,and sell it but now I have a blast fishing out of it. I will probably add a 90 hp 4 stroke this winter. When end ever I was unsure about something I went to Rogers boat restoration and asked them guys were a big help
  7. Sheath bait balls are in abundance right now. I saw one in the cove by hwy 12 boat ramp that was from the surface to the bottom. 24 ft of water. I have notice with the few degree of water temps the fish are at least little more active. I do hope they are getting fat. There is no telling what weather we have this fall. El NiƱo may be a factor. 78 degrees for the high on Thursday. Loving it.
  8. Nice report. I saw the boat at why 12 from the hwy. can't fix stupid. Those fish that have been chasing will get hungry soon I hope.
  9. launched at PC about 430. Made a run to ford creek area. Water temp 86. We fished in about 20 feet of water Ned rigs drop shots and jigs. Had smallmouth chase baits No luck at those debts. At 30 feet the spots where aggressive and we landed a few. Lots of fish on graphs. I caught my fish on Ned rig. Im thinking from the amount of bait fish plus the yearlings iV been seeing this summer beaver may take a leap forward in few years.
  10. I'm wanting to branch out on my fishing areas. I'm an East Texas transplant. iV been fishing really stAined water all my life. Maybe why I stay south of the bridge a lot. IV always launched out of PC. I'm thinking about Friday after work launching at Rocky Branch and running to Rambo. I study navionics maps a lot and for some reason that area looks ideal for the current water and temp conditions. Thanks in advance for input.
  11. i went out last night for couple hrs. I fished the end of bluff walls. started with big ol jig and no bits. switched to a spider jig and caught a few.
  12. Not much luck yesterday but weather was perfect. Caught a flathead on a jig. Lol. The fish are really scattered
  13. Low humidity. Going to be nice for a change. Cant wait to get off work friday.
  14. That bridge has been tricky. Saturday before last I watched some of the jackpot guys fly under that thing. I fish the mid lake a lot. Lately been going south u dear bridge just to get out of traffic. Last Friday I tried my first time to troll. It was hot as hell. Trolling gave a little breeze lol. Caught a few tiny spots off of bluff walls. This has been the toughest summer in a longtime. Was catching some here and there on frogs but that isn't working now. Still better than mowing the yard.
  15. beaver is my home lake and im primarily a bass fisherman.
