Im 49 years old and coming to Estes Park, CO on Oct 3-8 for a honeymoon trip. While the wife sleeps in early morning hours, I plan to fish in the Big Thompson (which is about 10 steps from the cabin) in the mornings and evenings. Im bringing a fine 6 foot ultralight spinning rod and may consider renting a fly rod while there. But, my goal is spincasting for trout (any kind). I am a wildlife biologist in Mississippi and have never caught a trout before. I just want to have some fun and eat a few while we are there.
We have a cabin just a few miles below the spillway of the lake. Give me some tips for lures and colors (spinners, jigs, mini stick baits, etc).
