Those plastic egg boxes are called Vibert boxes. They allow oxygenated water to circulate around the protected eggs without them being smothered in silt. The fish fry can swim out thru the slots.

Walmart in Cassville for license and trout tag, is only 10 minutes or so from Roaring River. I would also rather go to RR in the catch and release season yself , since the mob is considerably thinned out. You might also try calling Tims' Fly Shop at RR. I'm not sure of his hours this time of year, but you could the latest scuttlebutt on RR from Tim.
