Thanks for posting DB, headed to Stockton Sunday after church for a few days of walleye and crappie fishing and just might throw in my umbrella rigs and catch of few whites. Looked like a great deal of fun.
Would echo the cautions. Recommend you only go out with guides. Also buy a Lake Stockton Fish Master map. It'll tell you all you need to know about what fish you will. At h in the various areas of the lake. It's spot on. Mutton Creep marina has them.
Very best map you can own (on any lake) is the Fishing Hot Spots map. I buy one for a new lake before ever fishing that lake. They are excellent maps that show all contours and bottom structures but the best thing about them is that on the back is detailed information about all areas of the lake and what fish you will catch there. It is spot on. You can buy them at Bass Pro Shop in Springfield. Mutton Creek marina normally has the Stockton Lake map for sale. They cost about $40.
Good luck fishing. I'll start fishing (and camping) Stockton for walleye/crappie around April 10th for about one month.

I fish both the Louisiana marsh for specs, reds, flounder, etc and Lake Stockton for crappie and walleye. For crappie and walleye on Stockton you really need a boat. Hope that is in your future. Meanwhile the points mentioned are good.
Good luck.

i use 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz depending on wind. Also switch colors on both the roadrunners and plastics (red black pink and chartreuse). I use 10lb power pro with a 6-8 lb mono leader with a hd snap swivel. Use 1/8 oz slip sinker in front if needed. Boomer Sooner
Good info on this website. New to site so appreciate seeing all of the various ways to catch fish and where. For me, road runners with plastics tapped with live minnows will catch all the crappie and walleye you want. Very effective. I usually troll approx .7mph in 15 to 25' of water keeping the road runner on the bottom.
Good luck. Can't wait to get started next week but usually do my best towards the end of April into early May.
I catch all of my walleye on roadrunners with plastics tipped with a minnow trolling slow in 15 to 25' of water during the last week of April and first two weeks of May. Catch most of my crappie while fishing for walleye BUT I do work the banks some in shallow Sons Creek cove areas. As for locations, study the Fishing Hot Spots map for Stockton Lake. The map is spot on for where you will find the various species of fish in Stockton.
Love to be out on the water no matter the weather. Will start fishing the middle of April for post spawn wallies.

New to this forum. Big time walleye and crappie fisherman. Have been fishing and camping at Stockton Lake since 2004. Fantastic lake.
