Hello All,
My wife and I were thinking about taking our bass boat to Taneycomo tomorrow to do some trout fishing. We typically wade in the trophy area with our fly rods but with all the recent rains we have not been able to make it down there in a while. I have a couple of questions about boating on Taneycomo, I have read the topic on boating to the dam but just wanted some clarification. We will be coming from Springfield and wondering what is the best ramp to use? Also with how much water is being released is it pretty safe to just stay on plane and in the middle and get up to the dam or are there certain spots I need to watch out for? I have a humminbird unit with the lakemaster chip which will help me find the channel if needed. I have also been reading posts about quite a few nice fish being caught on Crankbaits and was going to try this but is anyone catching fish on a particular pattern with a fly rod? Any other info on how to fish Taneycomo from a boat is much appreciated.
Thanks for all the help.
