  1. Just felt like putting something on the board. Its been a long time since we have had water in the river. Hope all you guys are finding other places to fish....
  2. Check out the Tulsa World website ( http://www.tulsaworld.com/ ) bottom of the front page, in the Video's section. We have ourselves a bit of a celebrity here! Nice job!
  3. this is a waste. yes we will have to move south to Jenks if we want to fish in a manner relative to what we do now..Will it effect the striper? who knows....no one will say. Will I still have access? Who knows....Will I have a boat ramp? Will this cater to fisherman, the only people who really "use" the dam. Just a bunch of unknows. I do know this, no one other than the TU rowing team, Tulsa Rowing Club, and myself and maybe one or two other kayakers ever go in above the low water in Zink Lake. Citizens want water to do stuff they don't even do now. Here is the INCOG site with more info. http://www.incog.org/ark%20river/default.htm
  4. nah, you should just leave it for me
  5. Went out in the kayak last week on the Arkasas here in town. Took a nice photo from a still area at the headwater of the wave. Thought you guys might enjoy.
  6. Let me first say, they weren't called on me!!!! Since the water was up yesterday and it was so nice, I went kayaking at the Wave Park. When I put in, I noticed a guy below the fishing the dam in shorts and no shirt. No waders, just shorts and shoes. Well apparently, when I was downstream at PSO, he fell in a few times, and passer by's on the bridge called 911 because someone was drowning. By chance I paddled up to the ramp just as this guy did the walk of shame up to the TPD and TFD. To make a long story short, the cops were pissed. They couldn't believe this guy was out there, alone, in 55 degree water in just shorts. They also threatened to call the game warden because this guy wasn't carrying a fishing license. Anyway, no tickets were given. Just an FYI that if someone calls 911 because they think the water is unsafe or whatnot, they will respond in force, and they won't be happy. The kayaking was good too....I should have taken a picture of the commotion, but I did get a good picture at the wave...
  7. Striper
  8. White bass are back in the main lake near points and on wind blown banks. Caught a fair amount of fish in 8-12 feet of water. The water color is still a bit brown, but is clearing. Catfish were biting jugs as well on cut shad. Water temps on Sunday was 68 around noon.
  9. Went up last Thursday, stayed til Sat night. Water temps mid lake ranged from 53-58 degrees. I hear down by the dam the temps are around 60. Fishing was tough midlake...go to the clear(er) water in Duck Creek and Drowning Creek if you can. Hopefully it should come alive soon.
  10. td, if you are learning to fly fish and want to fish the Arkansas, go on a Sunday when the water is shut down....which will prob not be anytime soon. The flow is too high in the river right now. Read some of the older posts from years past, and they will help you out.
  11. Anyone been on the lake at all? Should be coming alive....
  12. I talked to the City of Tulsa crew yesterday working at the dam. They are building a new kayak wave, truckin in loads of boulders...I'm assuming they are also making some repairs to the wall too. They are hoping a new wave will add interest in the Tulsa Wave Park. The guy added the work is to be complete by Friday (maybe). They are also doing some silt removal up river, as the migratory Terns are not nesting right now. All should be good once the water allows the fish to run.
  13. thanks for the report..keep them coming. Can you post a water temp next time you are on the water? thanks in advance. KC
  14. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9105 Prob farther up river now. Probably at or near the Twin Bridges would be my guess.
  15. I haven't had any luck the past few trips...anyone been able to get into the fish? I saw the water temp really climbed before this last round of precipitatioin. Wondering if anyone got out there this past weekend to take advantage of it..... Kelly
