  1. Not one bit. I primarily used different jig heads with a nightcrawler. casted up towards the rocks and swam it back or drifted with it a couple feet off the bottom. I tried bottom bouncing but no luck. I also vertical jigged some brush piles but not much luck there either. I have a hard time staying on top of the brush pile even, in the slightest bit of wind.
  2. Got out early Tuesday in an attempt to find some walleye. Only ended up with one but found plenty of bass, mostly small, handful of bluegill and channel cats. Everything came from 10-15 fow on bluff banks. Seemed like the best action was where the bluff transitioned into chunk rock on the west side of the lake. (Wind was blowing from the east) launched at Hartley and fished around the bridge there and down into hawker branch
  3. I got out early this morning, put a line in the water around 6:30. fished until noon. No wind for most of the morning, but it picked up around 11 coming from the Northeast. Kinda a mixed bag really. Every time I thought I had figured out a strategy I would strike out. Fished a couple points north of the state park marina first thing. Not much doing there, few short bass and catfish. One decent sized drum got me excited until I finally got her to the surface. Went down to the West side of the long bluff separating little sac arm from Maze creek. Still no wind at this point. Jigged down the bluff and caught three walleye within 30 yards of each other. Two were dinks, but the third was a nice healthy 20" or so. I really felt like I had figured something out, but with only another small cat to show for the next hour or so, I moved on. Went to couple points near the north Cedar Ridge boat launch. Only the very tip of one of these points was still above water making a small bluffy island. Fished all around the island a caught a bluegill and few crappie. Most were short, one kept, and another one woulda kept if it made it to the boat. Oh well. After that the next hour was ruthless. Not a bite on anything I threw. I wished a couple more points near cedar ridge then went back up the bluff where I found the walleye. Nada. Wind was blowing pretty hard for my jon boat at this point so I decided to call it a day. Had a lot of fun though, I love driving to the lake early with empty roads and an empty boat ramp. Very peaceful for me. Water temp around 76-77 degrees and mixed cloud cover. Water still seemed quite green and filled with algae. I saw a ton of fish down near the bottom in the 15-20 foot range when the dropoff was pretty steep. I couldn't get anything to bite down there and what I did manage to catch all came in less than 15' This was my first trip this year to the little sac side of the lake. but I really enjoyed the view. How do you guys compare the little sac side vs. big sac side of the lake for walleye? I read something on MDC's website stating the Big Sac is "relatively infertile" but didn't know how to interpret this. Wish everyone the best of luck out there on the water.
  4. I found a few this morning in 6-10 fow on the points of bluffy/boulder banks. None of them were more than pound of so, probably not what you're really looking for.
  5. I probably should've spent more time shallow looking for the walleye it sounds like. I threw the Ned shallow some but not enough
  6. Thanks @JestersHK glad you found some success tonight. I appreciate the info
  7. That's fantastic! The USGS website has it listed 101.78. I take it this is not correct. Thanks so much!
  8. Sounds like he found success up near the cable. I was hoping to find some from my boat but certainly I can't get up there at it's current water level
  9. Anyone catching any warmwater fish in the upper end of Taney? Considering spending a day from cooper creek to Branson area. I enjoy catching trout but would love some walleye or crappie for the deep fryer. Thanks!
  10. Hey Y'all Had a tough 4 hours this morning from 9-1. Caught one walleye first thing in about 20 fow on a NE point using a jig head and half a nightcrawler. Barely 15" another walleye later in the day in about 6 fow near the brush. seemed like a lot of baitfish activity in the area. he was maybe 13" found a couple pockets of bluegill in openings in the brush line. brought home 6 to round out a decent meal. water temp got up to 76 degrees and only a slight SE wind this morning. water was like glass when I put in
  11. Thanks for the advice. I'll try the flats early and then some nw points
  12. Hey everyone, I was thinking about heading up after I get off work in the morning. Probably won't get on the lake until 9. I was thinking about fishing the flats just north of googer creek. Do you think 9 is too late to get after the walleye?
  13. After looking up a picture of hydrilla online I can say the grass in fellows at least looks like hydrilla. Not an expert obviously but it does look like it
  14. Thanks. I tried a bottom bouncer for the first time but I couldn't find the right speed to troll. I don't have gps so I couldn't tell how fast I was moving
  15. Thanks, I'll be sure to try that this Thursday when I go back.
  16. Hey Y'all, new user here. I've been reading your alls fishing reports for a few months so I thought I would add my own. I took my dad fishing from 9-5 today. Really hoping to find some walleye but we missed the boat on them. We launched in hartley creek near the state park area. Caught probably 40 bass, mostly kentuckies with a handful of smallmouth , 12-14" long. A few keepers. one nice largemouth about 20" Most bass came on carolina rigged nightcrawler, 1/16 oz jig tipped with half a crawler, or ned rig. fished mostly secondary points and bluffy ridges by the main channel. Most of our bass came in 15-20 ft of water, near the bottom. Also caught a smallmouth on a gray crappie grub. Caught two channel cats fishing the same way on a nightcrawler. both came on secondary points. a few crappie mixed in throughout the day fishing in 15-20 ft of water and trolling wally divers along a bluff in 30 ft of water. Also caught a ton of drum, maybe 20 throughout the day. My dad couldn't believe how many drum were in the lake. We kept thinking we had hooked a walleye staying down near the bottom to find out it would only be a big ole drum. Water was pretty murky back in hartley branch, but it was a a beautiful green on in the main lake. water temp around 66-68 degrees.
