We're headed down to Stockton for a camping/fishing trip this weekend. We'll be at the state park. It's been a few years since I've been on the lake and before then I never fished it very hard so I'm looking forward to having a few full days to get out there. I'm sure it will be crazy with the holiday but we'll deal with it.
My questions are less about fishing (but I'm open to suggestions) and more about provisions. Specifically, are there any of those self service ice stations around the lake anywhere where it is like $2 to fill up a cooler? Seeing as we'll be there for 4 days, we'll probably go through quite a bit and I'd rather not overpay for ice at the marinas if I can help it. Also, it looks like baitmasters is a good place to go for live bait? What is their selection and prices like? I'm thinking mostly crawlers and maybe a few different sized minnows or even some goldfish. Trying to decide if I should stock up before we leave or just buy when we get there.
If you've got recommendations for which live bait to use right now I'd love to hear them. I'll probably focus mostly on bass with artificials but may want to try for some walleye or cats with bait. I'm sure a few of my friends will prefer using bait for whatever wants to bite.
