My next trip is scheduled mid December and I would help in any way I could. Tooting my own horn now, I caught 12 fish over 20 inches long this October and only 2 we're rainbows. It appeared to me the trout were extremely line shy. I assume because of the fishing pressure. This fish was caught on a San Juan. Set up - a 7 wt. TFO, 9 ft Rio 4x leader, 1 ft tippet of 6 lb seagur invisx to a weighted peach egg then dropped a worm brown San Juan with 4 lb seagur invisx maybe 18 inches, like and using the smallest indicator possible. I like the short tippet to my 1st fly so it keeps any weight I need from slipping. Most of the fish was caught on the 4 lb dropper fly. Also, I really like using an attractor fly (peach egg), because it seems to improve the bite imo and I end up using it as an indicator alot.
