Hello, I will be coming down for a week in early July. I am going to be trailering my boat down from Camdenton on lake of the Ozarks. I crappie fish year round here on lake of the Ozarks. I will be staying near Big M Marina. I understand that there is not a great population of crappie where I will be at. What should I be fishing for to keep me entertained for the week? Does anyone troll flicker shads or bandits? Or should I just forget the panfish and bass fish for the week??

Headed to Stockton tomorrow afternoon from lake of the Ozarks. Deciding to give the crappie a break and target some walleyes. We are gonna do the 8th ounce jig with a night crawler and maybe do some trolling. What area of the lake should we be in? We were thinking the dam area, but wanted to see what someone who actually knows about the walleye in the lake thinks lol.

How have the crappie been? Worth a trip from loz? Haven’t really heard much from over there. Bite any hotter than it is right now on the big pond?

Herd there was a 1 hour wait time to launch at CC on Stockton yesterday. Also herd it was a sight to see them to try get boats back on the trailer when the 40mph wind gusts moved in around 6:30pm.

Larry Gale was a zoo this week. I’m a college kid and a non essential worker so I have been on the water everyday since last Friday. I have been bouncing around from Larry gale, PB2, and mccubins. There was almost a fish fight at Larry gale on Wednesday. There was also a guy who had is boat tied up at Larry gale and had the audacity to set up a full fledged fishing cleaning station on the small courtesy dock at Larry gale!! You have also got people throwing fish guts and spoonbill remains almost anywhere but the water! You can smell the place a mile away. Mccubins is a disaster if it’s own. Watched someone struggle to get the boat on the trailer for every bit of 20 minutes. Someone got fed up and backed their trailer off the one lanes paved ramp and into the gravel!! Those of you that are familiar with mccubins can imagine how that went. We counted 4 boats with the engine cover popped off with people trying to get the boat they take out 3x a year getting blown into the banks by the wind. If you like people watching, go to a public boat ramp the next warm day.

So I guess one question I have is about Caplinger Mills. Is this the closet river where I have the chance to catch white bass, crappie, and walleye?

Alright, I have read through some posts. I am a student at msu. I primarily crappie fish on lake of the Ozarks and smallmouth fish on the Niangua River. I am wanting to know of some good places on the sac to get my fix in. I have gone to Caplinger Mills 2x and got skunked each time including today as well as from the looks of it everyone else did also. Not asking for your honey holes. Just asking for some advice for a college kid and some others who can’t get the boat out everyday anymore lol

Coming to Stockton from Lake of the Ozarks. I think we are going to fish around the dam. Was wondering if anyone knew what the water quality was like. What would be our best bet, to fish brushpiles and structure or to find baitfish and fish the schools. Thank you

Wanting to get on some truman giant crappie. I fish lake of the Ozarks and the Osage river primarily for crappie. Want to come up to Truman and try some crappie fishing. Which boat ramp is going to put me in the best area of the lake to find some good crappie?

Pretty tough on the glaize arm yesterday. Found some on the corners of docks about 15 feet deep. Ready for the water temp to start dropin. Waiting for it to get dark and fishing over the green light saved the day. Did end up with a 6lb flathead

Haha! Really weekdays in the summer are fine. And night fishing on weekend summer nights if you are on the right part of the lake.

Want to think everyone for the help and advice. Put in at mutton creek trolled flicker shad in 15-20 fow found white bass, smallmouth, largemouth, catfish, and one walleye and several drum. Can’t wait to get back out on that lake. Love at first sight. Definitely nice to be able to actually fish on Friday night in the summer unlike the LOZ where I come from.

I’m a transfer as well. I was playing football at d2 school in Southern Illinois. Now I’m here and it’s definitely different.

Fishing Stockton for the first time. In Springfield for school so I’m wanting to fish stockton. What’s the closest ramp coming from MSU campus in Springfield? What should I target? From lake of the Ozarks so I haven’t really had the chance to target walleye so I think I want to try and find them? Looking for some advice for a first timer on Stockton. Thank you.

Also got to take my buddy from St. Louis out. His first time in a kayak.

Found them today, didn’t catch a ton of numbers but not were they hefty and mad. Good day on the Niangua. True Niangua Smallmouth River Beasts.
