  4. Thanks Dutch I will take your advice and try that area out.
  5. Thanks Straw Hat, I either predominately fish with live bait or troll, which brings up another subject I was going to start another thread for but since you brought up minnows. I like to use shad and it’s seems like every big lake has its spots shad can be caught with a cast net due different times of year. If anyone also catches their own shad, any suggestions on where to catch them during the different times of years? I know I am throwing a lot out there, it takes years and years to learn the fish patterns and spots on a lake of this size so I just want to say I appreciate everyone’s input, it all helps.
  6. Thanks Dutch, I checked the weather and it’s supposed to be a 17 mph wind out of the SSW. I have read about fishing wind swept points (assuming that’s the point opposite of the wind direction). I have only been down there three times so far and have only put in at Hawker Point. I thought about putting in at Crabtree this time since I keep reading about fish are down by the dam. A lot of the information online is very generic so I figured I would jump on this forum for some more precise information. If you were I, were would you put in and where would be the first place you would tried? I have one of those hot spot maps for reference and the fish attractor GPX files is that helps. Thanks
  7. Thanks Old Dog, unfortunately I don’t have Facebook (not a big fan of those type of platforms). I appreciate your response though.
  8. Hello All, I am new to the area and especially fishing at Stockton Lake. I am planning on going fishing Friday the 24th since the weather is going to be nice and would like to see about getting pointed in the right direction. I am trying to target Walley (only fished for them a couple of times). Reading the post it sounds like; 18 to 30 feet of water? Jigging best option? Are jigging spoons productive or any suggestions? Location Location Location lol. Any suggestions on where to fish the lake this time of year? I downloaded the fish locator GPX files from Mo.gov site and hopefully won’t have any issues downloading them to my fish finder. I noticed the are numbered 404, 238 180 etc so of anyone uses the files and could recommend spots I would greatly appreciate it. Planned on bringing some worms with me, good ideal this time of year and so crappie hit on worms? Thanks in advance for any information and Happy Holidays!
  9. Hello all, Just moved to the area and have been to Stockton three times now, beautiful lake. I usually like to catch my own bait with a cast net and thought I would reach for some information on areas to go throughout the year. Thanks
