  1. Most of us live around the Twin Cities but one guy was from down that way - Lonsdale area. Daze Off
  2. A small group of us (4 guys; 2 boats) just got back from spending a week fishing your wonderful lake and we want to express our gratitude for the help which this forum provided through the posts as well as some additional information from one of the members in particular. We are from Minnesota and can't fish for bass until the "season" opens around Memorial Day so we really needed to have a good time and your advice and experiences which you share so freely truly helped put us on some fish. The style of fishing is so different than the weeds we contend with all the time that I'm not sure we would have done nearly as well. We did not catch as many or as large of fish as we would have liked but we each caught enough to make it interesting. Two of us managed the proverbial "Grand Slam" and we did land a few over 5 pounds. We stayed at a great resort and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - although we could have done without the hail storm and the freezing temps on Weds. and Thurs. - it made it feel too much like home . We fished almost exclusively west of K-City and spent time in both the James and Kings arms. The best bait for us, by far, was the fluke style baits in shad colors. Anyway, thanks again and I'll continue to monitor this site and hope to return again next year with an even bigger group of fishermen. Daze Off
  3. Boy does this post bring back memories - we honeymooned at Crow's Nest Resort on Indian Point back in the early 80's and the deal was I got to bass fish for a couple of days. Not the high cotton of Big Cedar but still very fun. Must've worked as I still wake up next to her all these years later....LOL Daze Off
  4. Thanks for the responses. Anytime you would like to come up to the great frozen tundra I could point you to some fish of either the brown or green color. I live next to some world class smallmouth fishing on the upper Mississippi and also the Rum River which flows from Lake Mille Lacs to the 'Sippi. Mille Lacs is also a smallie bonanza. Maybe the best LM lake in the state is Minnetonka which is jsut west of the metro area. Have to warn you though if you come up here - prepare to fish in WEEDS and lots of them - at least for the LM's. Also, we have a "season" up here - you can't fish for bass of any kind until somewhere around Memorial Day each year. Daze Off
  5. Although I now live in the Twin Cities in MN I spent years in Lee's Summit area and fished a lot when I was down that way. Mostly crappies at the time but have become primarily a bass fisherman - go figure. Belonged to a BASS club for a few years and learned a huge amount about the sport and have become addicted. The wife tells me to go fishing not only on my "days off" but also to get the "daze" out of my eyes that forms when I don't get to fish for a period of time. Hope to learn more from reading posts and adding my 2 cents when I think I might have something to contribute. Coming down to Table Rock again in April for a week of fishing because I can't stand the wait until we can fish for bass again up here. Daze Off
