  1. This picture was taken from my back door in South Springfield!!
  2. My rain gauge here in South Springfield measured for the two days 2.2 inches.
  3. Gone, you are right. Unblievable fishery. Never know what you are going to catch. If they are generating water we will be up there. If you are on the handicap ramp side just yell "hey coach" and about 4 or 5 of us will answer. We are all retired coaches and educators. Look us up. We will always have sliders available.
  4. Fool, I haven't been on the lake yet, probably a little early considering the weather. I usually put in at the Bolivar Landing and fish any and all the coves from the ramp to the dam.
  5. Dutch, We would like to have you tag-along. We won't be going up tomorrow. The generation schedule only shows a 10 for generation. It's needs to be 60 or 90 or 120 to be effection. Come join us. The website for generation is www.swpa.gov/generation.htm. All dams are located and Truman is HST.
  6. Gone, you need to get creative. We carpool. We get four people in the car and drive from Springfield and share the gas expense and everyone else buys the driver supper for wear and tear on his car. Takes us about one hour and thrity minutes depending on how many eighteen wheelers you get behind.
  7. Pat, yes Greve was with me as was Roy and Nelson Morrison and Holmes Teagarden. Von we were fishing from the bank next to the handicap ramp. Good to hear from you Pat. Come and join us. Give me a call.
  8. Had a good day at Truman Tailwaters yesterday. There were four of us and the pictures are a sample of what was caught. Fished from 4:00 p.m till a little after dark. All together we had 9 hybrids up to 10 pounds 41 white bass and 38 crappie. Most were caught on 3 inch pearl sliders with a one-eight oz. pink head.
  9. Put in today at the CC Ramp at Stockton and went up Turnback about mile or so and fish from 3:oo p.m. till dark. We had 21 white bass bass and 17 crappie. Was cold, the wind was blowing hard from the north. Caught them on eigth ounce grey and black head. We caught most of them along the grass beds where the channel makes a hard left to the South. The water temperture was 49.2. Good enough we will be back tomorrow.
  10. A friend and I traveled up there on Monday. They are running some water, but in talking to some locals fishing there they said it has been very slow since the cold weather. We fished from 9:00 a.m. till 3:00 pm and only caught one short walleye. Only saw one other fish caught and it was a small keeper walleye. Lake of the Ozarks is down about two foot so the back eddy on the handicapp side is hardly existing. Locals said if weather holds it will pickup in a day or two. Hopefully this front coming in will fill up Lake of The Ozarks and that will make it better.
  11. Sure was great to get out today and enjoy this weather. It was nice to have to adorn the sunglasses and shed a few clothing along the way. The boat ran great for the first trip this year. Little foggy this morning, but it burnt off nicely. Caught several short fish in Piney, still some ice all the way in the back. Most of the fish came on rogue bite on the left side going in Piney. Great to be out. Will do nothing but get better.
  12. This picture was taken in my back yard among the fallen limbs.
  13. Have lived in the Ozarks almost all my entire life. What a place!!! I am retired after putting in 38 years of teaching and coaching, mostly in Springfield and at Kickapoo High School. Now that I am retired can put in more time into my hobbies.(Fishing and Hunting). I look forward to sharing information and tips from the board. See you on the lakes or in the woods!!!
