  1. Hi all. Just have a question about low compression. I have a 70hp Evinrude 3cyl outboard. When I had it tuned up this year the mechanic said the #1 cylinder was lower than the other two...110# in #1...140# in #2/3...is this any major concern? Motor runs strong and smooth. Idle is a little shakey but not too bad.I realize eventually it may be a problem. Just don't want to get stranded somewhere. Thanks for the help...great forum
  2. There is a little lake in Minnesota right near Leech lake that is called Lake Garfield. Great walleye and crappie fishing when we were there. There is one Mom & Pop resort on the lake. It is spotless and family friendly. We fish Lake Kabetogama in Northern Minnesota. It's a large lake in Vouyers Park near International Falls. Harmony Beach Resort there is excellent and they also have a couple camping spots. Ash River area is also near there on Namakon Lake with tons of resorts, camping etc. Check out Minnesota Fishing.Com for some great info. Kabatogama is top notch for walleye, crappie, small mouth and northern. Tim Watson is a top notch guide for that area at Kabatogama Angling Adventures. Cass Lake is also very good and reasonable for families with excellant walleye, perch and northern fishing along with Musky. Many wisconsin lakes around Rice Lake or Minaqua are very good. Hope this helps...
  3. Gas is $3.10 for regular in Northern Ill and climbing...Heading to TR in the morning for a week of fishing...looks like the trolling motor will get quite a workout this year...figure $300 just for gas to get there and back pulling the boat...excited about trying out some of the suggestions I've read from you folks...thanks for all the info...
  4. Hope the warming up continues...be down the end of May for a couple weeks of fishing...will be keeping an eye out for some helpful hints...again, great site...
  5. Really enjoy this forum. I love to fish Table Rock in the warmer months. Planning to retire to the Cape Fair area in the near future. Sure enjoy all the good info everyone is willing to share with a "fair weather angler". Nice meeting all of you and stay warm...
