Well Saturday the wind was out of the south pretty hard and it was very warm. All our fish came in under 7 fow. Main lake gravel with a small cut or cove is ideal. Fish were holding on wind blown banks. All the steeper chunk rock banks and bluff banks were only producing small fish. Now 2 weeks ago it was totally opposite. I just think the warm sunshine had them active

I've went the last few weekends. They have been wanting a 10-15 second pause and the bait barely moved. Had better luck on gravel flats or where the channel swings close around the dam

Winter bass brawl on Sunday. No musky, 1 walleye

I've went almost exclusively to the 110+1. I'll throw the standard ones when I'm typically under 8 foot but normally I'm on bluff ends or channel swings. Just have more confidence with the +1. This was today on the elegy bone +1, pomme de terre though

Fished today out of hermitage. Threw deep diving jerkbaits and standard ones. Fished transition banks and bluff ends around the dam. Keep the boat in about 20 ft. Water temp hovered around 42. Had a very nice limit and big fish of 8.09 lbs. incredible day of fishing

No pics? -
We ended up with about 30. A lot of 12-14 inch thick kentuckies.

I have heard that as well. Buoys went from no wake to no boat

Still not a fan but have to throw it to compete. Times getting about right where it's getting ready to dominate like last year

In a megabass you can't go wrong with ITO natural or elegy bone. I own 31 megabass and have 2 with broken bills due to bad casts. I have 7 rc stix and have 3 broken bills. On another note, I purchased 2 of the smaller rc stix last weekend and floated the James river. Within an hour, both the bills were broke. One from a fish and the other from simply landing on the cast. I won't buy anymore of them. Did connect with this fish near Delaware town access before the bill broke

So if you were in the Spfd/Branson area and were going to have your boat recarpeted, who should I call that does it?

Stayed around the dam mostly and fishing was tough. Threw a megabass jerkbait early and when the wind picked up an the sun came out switched to a wiggle wart and spinnerbait on chunk rock banks with wind or gravel. Not a lot of fish but decent size. Best 5 around 14. Did catch 1 good musky and 2 walleye about 20" on the megabass. Walleye found the grease. Attached the pic of the best fish that ate a pb & j wart.

Water was anywhere from 54-56 main lake and 48 up the river arms. Water isn't exactly dirty just coffee lookin. Visibility was about 1'. Went today for bass

Yes I did paint it. Airbrushing isn't hard at all, I would recommend you try it

Fished a small charity tournament out of mill creek today and ended up winning with12.86. Had 6 total keepers and 5 shorts. Followed the wind, not hard to find it, and threw a wiggle wart. Custom paint job, brown/purple. Big fish was 3.68. No fish on topwater and one short on a blade. Stuck to 45degree banks between aunts creek and KC. water temp was 59-61. Overall table rock is still very tough. They don't seem to be wanting to put the winter feed bags on quite yet

+1 for Sportsmans factory outlet. the guys are always nice and willing to just talk w/ you and the supply of Zoom is ridiculous. I've never had much luck with the owners of Fin N Feather. Seems like everytime I go in there I'm bothering them from watching tv or reading there newspaper. That's just my personal experience. I've been into academy and the fishing department. I won't go back to it unless I want a shirt

Bass fished Stockton on friday and saturday and both days had good numbers of fish but lacked in quality. Fished in the bushes and out in front of them with a chartruese/white spinnerbait, pearl weightless fluke, and sherbert floating worm both days. Fished the big sac side near the twin bridges on friday and little sac side near cedar ridge/bona on saturday. Seen alot of bed fish in the clearer water but as soon as you would cast to them they would disappear. Not locked on yet. Looking for a bigger fish I backed out to some main lake points leading into a spawning pocked and threw a Norman Deep Little N and caught one about 6# on friday in 12 fow. Tried to run the same pattern on saturday looking for bigger fish and could only bring in short bass and one walleye about 5#, he made a good dinner. Had alot of fish chase a topwater but the only ones I could bring in the boat were about 14 inches, bigger fish just seemed to slap at it in the shallow water, almost like it was in there territory and they didn't like it.

I agree that the private land excuse it kinda bs. One of those issues where nothing will change until someone gets hurt and I hate to see it that way. If i float again on that stretch i'm just gonna call the sheriff when/if I hear them shooting and they can go down and at least talk to them. All i know to do............
-
Probably say alot more to someone shooting over 65 as compared to us little old river fishermen in our canoes
-
Both the MDC and Sheriffs Dept said there was nothing they can do bc it was on private land. They said they could show up and tell the people that there bullets are traveling across a waterway and they could pretty much tell the sheriff to piss off. So I was told about the only time they could stop them is if they shot someone or caused damage.

I just wanted to post my frustration to some individuals on this site. I have floated the james river from below the Springfield dam to shelvin rock, not in one day, many times over the last few years and have caught some nice fish but have come into some sticky situations. Last year we were floating from below the dam to rivercut golf course and about a mile above the rivercut area there is a stretch where a cleared out section of power lines crosses the road and the were a group of people that were in that clearing shooting rifles and handguns. I was floating with a guy and I could tell he was kinda nervous with how close the shots were and we tried yelling and letting them know we were floating and on the river but it didn't seem to make a difference. When we rounded a horseshoe section of the river the gun shots started again and that is when we heard the "zing" that a bullet makes go by us and hit into the mudbank directly behind us. We began yelling, more out of fear and the people said sorry. I floated on 4-1-12 in the same stretch and the same thing was happened again. It's made me and the group of guys I fish with not want to go down there anymore due to the fact of how close the bullets really were. I just don't understand how people can shoot and just a reckless level especially at a public waterway. Hell, they could kill someone. I called a friend that is an agent of greene cty and he said there is nothing they can do and I also spoke with the greene cty sheriff to try to let them know how dangerous it is and they said the same thing. I'm just letting people know that if you float that stretch be careful. I actually looked up on google maps today where the house or land is there shooting from so if it ever happens again, were gonna have words. I hope no one has experienced the same situation and if you have be careful and good fishing
