I saw the same thing at the dam on the Norfork last weelend. To top it off, this guy, a young guy with his dad and brother, would move in on me every time I would move to another spot. He was fishing with a spinning rig with the trout on a stringer.when he got done, he went upstream from me about 50 feet to clean them in brod view of everyone. It was a shame to see him over limit and too small fish at that.
Not a member, That was the only time I went. You did show me a trick or two as I hadn't been tieing long. Meet with Bear at the bug and watched him tie a few and I'll have to go down and watch him some more at the nature center.Hey, if they catch fish they can't be wrong.
I bought my blanks at hook and hackle. They had a sale on them for $12 apeice (I think). I don't know if the sale is still going. The kits are ok, but you can get better componets if you order them seprately.
It was my first also. I made it on Thurs and had a ball. Made it to Norfork on Fri with a buddy for some fishin and caught a few. I will be at the conclave for sure and at the bug next year. Had a real good time.
Yea I turned the handles on these rods. The cork was a cheaper grade of cork and had a lot of filling in the bleamishes. next time I'll go with a better grade of cork. One will be for a buddie that has a birthday this weekend and the other I'll keep. I'm gonna let him pick which one he wants. We will hit the river Thurs. to try em on some trout. Then we will hit the Sow Bug on Fri.
Here are a couple of rods I just finished. They are 8'6 5wt on forcast blanks. One has holo stripping guids and tips and the other has blue strippeingguides and tip.
