  1. Hi guys, Thanks for the replies... I wish I could return for the National Tournie... but that doesn't look like it is in the plans. We have to space out the visits $$. Why does that have to be a factor? Reality I guess. Best to all. Kano
  2. Hi guys, I fished Taney near outlet 1 and 2 on Mon. The only day available with all the activity at C of O over the weekend. Phil, sorry I missed you at C of O. I wasn't sure if you were there for Saturday's game. I realized when I got to the fishing spots... I don't know who any of these people are... is Leonard here? Dano? Phil? I figured it would be kinda doofy to go around asking people are you so and so? Do you know ____? Oh well I'm sure it was my loss. I didn't do very well on Mon. Only had a couple hours .. but the weather was warming with less wind than expected. No one else (wading) was really catchin' much either so I didn't feel too bad. I wish I could have stayed longer, but fishin' was a bonus to seeing and visiting with my son at C of O. I was impressed all over again with the College and the people. We are blessed to have this College. I hope to return often to fish and visit. Maybe even relocate some day. Duane... sorry I missed you also. Time was tight.. but thanks for your offer to meet up and fish. Kano
  3. Hi guys; I'm just a recent addition to the forums. I'm on campus at C of O. Came dowm from CT to visit my son and see a couple of his Bball games. I will be around either tonight or tomorrow. I'm using my son's computer: I haven't even had a chance to unpack my fishing stuff yet. I just brought a flyrod with me. (4wght) Any chance wading will be possible? I called the power gen phone but it has been busy all the time.... good sign??? I figure most of you are out trying out the nicer weather. Kano
  4. Phil; thanks.. we will be at Friday and Saturday night home games. Bryon sees limited minutes at this point. He is # 44. If you are there Saturday night come up and introduce yourself to us. It will be nice to meet you. (parents and players will be introduced at the game,so you'll see us before we see you) Warmly, Bill Kane
  5. thanks guys... I'll be reading and learning. Is this fast reply the best way to continue in the forum. Terry.. where about in Ct are your cousins? Kano Dano; yeah New england is pretty... the trout in Farmington are strong but don't grow as huge as those I've seen in Taney. Count your blessings (your fish too) Kano
  6. Message Forwarded From Kano I have really enjoyed reading all the good conversation regarding Lake Taneycomo. I am from Connecticut and have been flyfishing TMA catch and release mainly at Farmington and Housatonic Rivers in Northern CT. The Farmington is a similar cold water fishery to Lake Taneycomo. I have fished Taney a couple times while visiting my son who attends College of the Ozarks. Last time I fished Taney it was unbelievable. (lost count) I really appreciate the friendliness of others I spoke with on the Lake (river) I was wading each time. The tips and techniques mentioned in the articles posted are phenomenal. It greatly reduces the time and learning curve for this unique fishing opportunity. Thanks to all who contribute and share ideas. You guys are super. The trout health and size are awesome. I'm not sure if I am posting this correctly. Still trying to figure out how to navigate the forum. I think I've found a place I'll visit often. I will be coming down for a special event at the College. A parent player recognition for Basketball team members. My son is a freshman on the men's team. Hope to fish one or two times while I'm around. Hope to wade at some point. Think that could happen any time soon? Blessings, Bill Kane
