  1. Thanks to all of you for the ideas. I think that I may start the season either in the Niangua Arm, or towards Truman dam from Hurrican Deck. If there's less "frigates", (I like that one), I'll enjoy fishing without nashing my teeth. I have this site in my favorites and will be checking for info before my trips and sending reports after. Look at the Table Rock Forum when you can. They have a large following and a lot of good info is exchanged. Thanks again to all of you, and I hope to talk again soon. Good Fishin, Whopper Stopper
  2. Thanks, Cardiac for the reply. I'm a little west of you in St. Charles. If it's quieter on the KC side, it would be worth it to me to spend the extra time and gas to get there. I'll check tonight to see if I have a lake map for that end. Whopper Stopper
  3. Hello all. My name is Dan, and new to this site. I have a delima, and I hope some of you can help. My problem is that I love Lake Of The Ozarks, but hate the large boat traffic. I have been fishing the lake for the last few years only in the late fall, when most of the big boys are put up for the winter. I have tried to fish the lake during the summer and it was somewhat less than enjoyable due to the big boats and some of their skippers. Some are down right rude with steering too close. All I can do is drop the rod and grab the gunnels. My question to the knowledgeable on this site is: where on this lake can I fish in relative peace? An arm that most big boats don't use because of width, depth or any other reason. I fish for bass and crappie and would love to start fishing this lake all year long. Thank you in advance for your reply.
  4. I can't help with the lake info, but I am watching this site as well to plan my first trip of the year. I plan to fish only when the big boats arent around. That means early and late in the season. I can tell you that at least the small lake fish are waking up though. I went to a seven acre lake near New Melle yesterday, and caught an estimated 18 lbs. of bass. I started at the shallow end and got three stikes on a Senco Swim Worm, but no fish. I walked the bank all the way around past the dam and continued till I reached the shallow end. Caught two 1lb. fish on a Christmas tree that someone sank last year. That was it. Fished my way back around the lake to near where I started. A few more cast and I was heading out. Bang! A six and a half lb. female that was ready to bust with eggs. She wallowed around like a fat hog. I let her go and took about ten steps, made a cast and bang! A four and a half lb. female. For the next hour I caught and released five more bass of about one lb. each. Got'em all on a shallow running Shadrap. Sure glad I fished that bank one more time. Its killing me that I can't go back this weekend. I travel with my work and I have to leave Sat. morning for Cressona Pa. for about a week. I'll have the memories to keep me warm untill I get back there. Catch you later.b

In a large baking pan lay 4 carp fillets breaded with flour Add 1 cup vodka Add 1 cup Crown Royal Add1 cup Southern Comfort Cook for one hour on gas grill at medium heat Let cool for an hour Scrap the carp off in the garbage can and drink the gravy After the gravy you wont care didly about gas or charcoal!
