well trip fell through sadly, may take the wife and go greer to riverton
-
Hey guys, I haven't been on the eleven point in 15 years. We always hit the current since we have a cabin on it. A buddy is coming in on leave and we are going to take out the old canoe. We are going to put in at Greer and try to make it to 142 on a good two day float, is this doable? From all I have read, it looks as if the biggest part to worry about is the tree 2 miles down river from turners mill. Any others i should know about? we are going to be going after trout and smallies on spinning setups. I figure for smallies i'll take my normal summer current river box, but as for trout, spoons, rooster tails, or micro cranks? any advice would be awesome!

any goggle eye hitting? me and a buddy are going to go from greer to 142 next week

was thinking about floating this tomorrow in my kayak.... is it worth it? how long from linden bridge on 125 to the park??? any good fishing holes?
-
there are a few deep holes on up but not many, they become few and far between. mostly pretty sites, and smaller smallies

I climbed the dam with and put my kayak in last thursday. I sunk a nice 6lb largemouth in the brush about a 100 yards from the dam, I was super excited cause that was the biggest large I have ever caught, (smallie fisherman), I was fishing a twin tailed grub, nothing but a bluegill the rest of that bank so a paddled up the side with the houses, picked up a few small bluegill, and a nice crappie, then paddled way up to the rocky bottom, saw some huge fish, but couldn't pick up any more. it was nice to get out and enjoy the quietness of the upper part, saw one deer, and a few snakes. the largemouth was well worth the trouble of lugging my heavy yak over the dam. will try to get on here on my cell and post up some pics, if not, will have to wait till i upload to my computer from my phone.

I have a 12 foot ascend sit on top anglers. I climb the dam a lot and paddle up as far as I can and float back. I usually catch some decent fish for a river that size, but nothing to write home about. Once you get above the houses, it gets really pretty though. I have seen a few largemouth that would go 3-4lb but never got em to bite. I have yet to make the linden to ozark float. Looking to do that next thursday possibly. Any one know how the logs are after the flood? I know people said that there were a few places you had to drag around where trees were across the water. Was wondering if the flood took those out or not.

Where Can I Find A Good Population Of Smallmouth On The Current River?
polock replied to MaxDrown's topic in Current River
round springs to where it empties into the black river man, they are nailing top water in the shallows at daylight and dusk. been slaying them on white and black twin tailed grubs and small plastics. -
here is some pics of a few, stopped takin pics because they were almost all this size they are a blurry but i was trying to get a pic of myself with a timer on my camera and it was hard to keep focus

fished all last week and it was a very good week on the lower current. the night of 6-1 caught around 10 smallies biggest around 15 inches on two tailed grubs of dark colors, morning of 6-2 was amazing, 21 smallies, all mostly on top water pop-r's biggest one stretched to 19" several keeper sized a few goggle eyes, and all were caught before 8am. Evening of 6-2 produced fish on crawdad looking plastics on deeper rocky banks. 6-3- rained last night, bite was a lot slower, still a few on top water but nothing like the day before. caught a lot more goggle eye on 3" grubs, fished till dark, 6-4 morning, no topwater action at all, but the grub action was pretty good, mostly small fish but a lot were active, the storms over night had them pretty tight mouthed and the fish that were biting were in deeper slower water with large rock. I noticed a lot of bedding going on, No fluke bite what so ever though, kinda disappointed in that because it is my favorite go to bait on the current for spring. Pics on the way of a few, White was a hot color in anything during the mornings, darker pumpkin, browns and black hot at night. I was fishing in between goose neck and doniphan. never tried a mid day bite but usually when I fish mid day the bite is pretty good but ya gotta hit the breaks in the current of deeper water.

i have had luck with flukes and pop r's the few times i have been out. i think everywhere has good topwater action at dawn and dusk
-
I hit gravel banks, rock banks, and sharp drop offs and threw crickets, minnows, and crawlers and didn't catch anything but bait. I talked to a neighbor yesterday and he said we need to go and he is going to put me on fish. This is my last hope for this lake, or i'll just drive to our river house on the current and stick with what I know.

On Lake Now. Where Can I Find Bluegill Bigger Than A Golfball?
polock replied to polock's topic in Table Rock Lake
yeah didn't see any anywhere near that size today. i am beginning to hate this lake -
well here i go boys, i'm puttin in over by moonshine and will probably be fishing the coves and points over around the chateau, I'll be in a maroon colored shirt with a straw budwiser hat on in a tracker tournament xt boat. No OAF stickers yet on this one since I just got it. Stop by and say hey if you see me out there.

we haven't got much up here but i have seen it falling all over table rock on the news yesterday and today, Just wondering if there will be any possibility of good fishing? I am going to be going after pan fish mainly tomorrow.
-
i am coming from ozark, usually put in around the darn at moonshine access, where can a fella buy crickets on the way to there?
-
got permission from the the wife to go fishing tomorrow and was wondering if i should even come down to the rock tomorrow since we have had all this rain, or if i should stay up here and kayak the finley. i am looking to get after some smallmouth and hopefully find some bluegill and goggle eye to keep. I didn't know how much rain the rock got yesterday but it didn't do anything up here in ozark so any pointers on where to go?
-
i wanna get after some pan fish for a fry, as well as the cat fish, i think i found a few places to try cats, I thought about putting in over by the dam at the public access ramp over by moonshine beach. Running over to the coves around chateau, and using some crawlers in the cover off from the banks a few bobbers and a few tight lines on bottom. I read some posts of people catching bluegill up around 9-10 inches, never seen em this big on the current, that is what I wanna find
-
Yeah really looking for a place that people have had lucking fishing on a rod and reel for them. I live about 45 min from the lake and don't wanna have to make 2 trips to check the lines in the morning before sun up.
-
ok, so I picked up a nice used tracker tourney pro 17 with a 50hp prop on it, It is set up with 4 rod holders across the back 2 on the sides and a few up front. I think this was used as a crappie boat, but I think it would be good for cats as well. My buddy from alambama has been bugging me constantly about getting after cats. I have never catfished other than in farm ponds. any pointers on where to go and what to use?

started off at the rock... one more day to add on to why i hate big lake fishing, did lousy.. bout 10 the wind was picking up so we checked the generation schedule and saw WHAT!!!! NO GENERATION.. Hooray for Iphones!... took out of tablerock, dropped in to taney. hit the trophy water and got 4-5 on white jigs but they just weren't taking em, most were just following. went down to below fall creek and powerbaited for an hour or so, picked up a few. The bite was slow. then I tied on a sculpin colored 1/8th jig and oh my gosh, it was like having fish food at the hatchery. every cast got a strike and picked up several more good sized bows. a few around 16-17" with great color. it was olive and sculpin today for us. when we got home I took the yak out on the finley. 3-4 15" largemouths of flukes. had a small mouth take and run with a fluke and snapped new 8lb line like it was nothing. then Not sure what I hooked, but something got a hold of my fluke, and snapped my 5' micro light i use in the kayak. almost got it in site, and the one eye I did have still attached to my handle didn't give enough support to the line and it broke. darn, 2 super nice fish that would have made good pics for sure. so got to paddle back to the jeep during the prime time of the evening. No hits on topwater at all today, was kind of dissapointed, got one heck of a sunburn for my stubberness against sunblock.
-
got my tying gear out, tied up some black, black/red/ black/ yellow, black/crawdad, white, white/red, sculpin, sculpin/black, should this do it for 1/8th jigs for tomorrow last time I was down black was the go to color, hearing they are back on whites and sculpin now? sorry for the run together form of the post my 5 month old is in my lap pushin buttons so i am typing fast before she hits another one

hey guys, so my last post we didn't get to make it down to table rock. told the wife we are going tomorrow no questions asked . my buddy and I are heading down and hopefully will be pullin into branson around 6am. I live for topwater and fluke fishing. Where should we put in and fish these baits?? everytime I have been on table rock I have used the resorts ramp, where is a good public access ramp??? I was thinking darn area and indian point but not sure if we should hit a different area. If you guys could direct me to a part of the lake that isn't so big and still has some fish that would be better since I have my small 16x48 johnboat.
