  1. Lucky enough to get this week off. Been fishing from the Kings to Eagle Rock. Saturday and Sunday were tough fished hard and managed a couple barely keeper LMs each day. Water was in the low 40s and reached mid to high 40s by Sunday PM. Keepers came off grubs and stick baits. Did catch a huge crappie Sunday night for dinner. Didn't get out until 4pm on Monday. Water was high 40s. Rain was rolling in so went straight to a nearby windy point with trees. The bite was on. Caught around fifteen fish with 4 keepers, 2 LMs, 1 ky and 1 smallie. Biggest was the ky, maybe 2.5 lbs. All fish came on a Mcstick...not sure what its called but it's not the chrome chad, it does have a green back with some orange on the bottom....not sure it mattered. Also caught 2 walleyes and kept the one that went 21. Went out this morning. Didn't do much early but when the wind picked up caught a LM over 4 and another that went 5.7 on my scale. They both came from the same very windy bluff point. Had the trolling motor on high and had to stand on it. Both came on a Staysee. The biggen is the best best fish I've caught on the Rock! The last 2 days have been great! Have some work to do but will diffently get out some more this week.
  2. Fished from 10:00 to 4:00 today. Water temp from 36 to 38. Threw a jig, spoon, shakey and jerks. All fish caught on Chrome Mcstick and one on an Xrap. Had our best luck fishing cedars in north side cuts about 1/3 to 1/2 way back. Couldn't get bit on the main lake. Ended catching 8 with 4 keeps, best about 3.5lbs.......all LMs. Fished for a few hours yesterday...real tough one keeper. Several boats out yesterday only saw a one today. Gonna try for a couple hours tomorrow, hopefully warm weather will get them going.
  3. Thanks Guys I was fishing with Emeraldbass when I snagged the log perch. I know the day before he caught spots, LM, SM, crappie, gils and a nice keeper walleye out of the very same hole........if he's not nice I tell you exactly where it is.
  4. Snagged this little guy on a spoon in 30ft of water around the BigM area. I assume it 's some kind of sucker but not sure.....anyone know? Hopefully I get the pic attached.

  7. I've been a big fan of this site for a couple of years, thanks to the those who maintain the site and to all for the great posts!! This is my first. Fished the Big-M area with my 14 yr old son on Sat and Sun. According to electronics water temp was around 60 not sure if this is accurate, seems like it should have been warmer? Water was pretty dirty. Fished for about 5 hrs Sat afternoon. We did the grub thing on points for the first couple of hours but only managed one short. Moved in and started catching them. Ended up with around 15 total with 5 keepers, 4 SM and a spot. Tried the SB but had our best luck with plastics. Spent a good deal of time retreiving lures from trees and bushes but it was worth it. Got to watch my son land a 4 lb SM...very cool. Fished for a couple of hours Sunday morning with one keeper and several shorts. Man was it windy. I think my kid is messed up for life . He wanted to fish longer but had to mow and clean gutters before the drive back to KC. O yeah, I do feel like we dodged a bullet on Sat. Checked the weather on Friday before we went down and only saw a chance of rain possible thunder storms. Well on Sat evening we could see it was getting ready to get nasty so decided to call it a day, tuff call cause the fish were biting. By the time we left the ramp and got to the house (maybe 5 minutes) it really cut loose. I mean it was all you could do to walk from the truck to the house. Glad we were not on the lake in those conditions. Ok, too lazy to search the site but does anyone know if there's a weather hotline or some way to check conditions while on the water, thanks.
