  1. Well technically you probably should say most fun, but I have been known to use the word funnest myself. Anyway, the boyfriend and I were up at Stockton on Sunday and had some luck with white bass (I think that's what he said they were). It made my day! I hadn't caught anything since we'd gotten the boat, I thought we were doomed, but there they were! I'm glad you and your son can go fishing together and catch that many fish! Yay!
  2. Aww... I guess I didn't realize that about poor little Buddy, he was so cute! If he had a girlfriend on Prospect that means he must have passed on before you moved out of the River St. house, how unobservant of me! But that was a long time ago! Cody is not the other half owner of my boat. My boyfriend is. Cody likes fishing, but he's not much into owning property with his sister. My boyfriend asked me, Heather, would you like an engagement ring or a fishing boat? Well I picked engagement ring, but we ended up with the boat anyway. It not too bad of a choice, hopefully the engagement ring will come someday.
  3. Hey Chief! I certainly remember you living next door! Do you still have the adorable dog? Glad to see that the fam is doing well! We moved away from that house almost 2 years ago, kind of sad for me, but good for my dad and step-mom (and it's also free accomodations while I finish up my masters). Anyway, I hope you learn a lot of good stuff on the forum. Do you guys have a boat? Maybe yummysmokedham and I will see you out there some day! :-) Heather
  4. Thank you all for the warm welcome! As far as the job goes, Social Studies is hard to come by where I live (southwest, Missouri). I graduated college a year and half ago with several social studies majors who are still looking for jobs in that area. You might check moteachingjobs.com (my district hasn't handed out contracts yet, and I'm thinking that's probably true in other districts as well, so it might be a little bare right now, but start filling up during "contract season").
  5. yummysmokedham already knows this, but I thought others might benefit from the info. I called Mutton Creek Marina today to ask about the dock and they said that it was just under water right now (about 3.5 feet down). They said they should be getting out soon to resolve the problem, but none of them have wanted to venture into the water as of yet. Hopefully they were talking about the right dock, because that's a good launching point.
  6. I'm Heather, and I'm the co-owner of yummysmokedham's 16' Tidecraft. Before we bought the boat I'd only fished a couple of times (my first time being last fall), but I find that I do enjoy fishing. I know that I have a lot to learn about fishing, and I just bought my very first pole last week before we went out on the lake the first time this season. I've only ever caught three fish, but it's an awesome feeling! I joined the forum to get some insight into the local lakes and rivers so that we can optimize the weekends we have for fishing. Be patient with me, I like to ask questions (I am a teacher, I want to know it all!). I attached a picture of the biggest fish I've caught. Not much to brag about for an experienced fisherman, but it was only the third one I'd ever reeled in!
