Currently, you may be correct. But if we never get started it will always be. And that is my point and why I say the republican party stands in the way as that is the same baseless arguement they use.

Hey, Paul, I read you email to me today. I lost your address and you can't recieve PM's. Just wanted to let you know I wasn't brushing you off. I only read my email about once a week.

That is not entirely true. You are basing a long established infastructer and supply system against a brand new one. You will always have highe production cost for a new product. And that price will steadily decrease. Can you imagine what the cost of oil production would be if all facilities were being built new today? And there are more effecient forms of ethonol than corn. Switchgrass for instance is a one time planting and is havested like hay. No replanting cost. You don't need many specialized peices of equimpent like crop production. And as an added benifit, it produces more energy units per acre than corn. Then you can weigh in all the reduced erosion. There is a huge savings just in that. Then you can also weigh in the fact that many of our prairie species that are having a tough time surviving will be able to make a come back. I knew the part about the enigines would come to play. We have the technology to correct these problems. We can look no further than Formula 1 racing. They have been running that for years. Yeah I know the motors are rebuilt everytime but, the tech is there. We just have to quite sucking up to the oil companies and learn to breath for ourselves. But that will be very hard to do when our very own president rips the solar panels right off of the Whitehouse and the new Speaker of the House trashes every green tech option the previous speaker installed. With help like that on Penn. Ave, it is no wonder this country can't get green.

Yeah and it is also unfortuante that they are also the reason we are going to have $6 gas instead of $1 a gallon renewable ethonol.

If you don't want to hurt the fish.....Don't fish. Morals be darn....if the law allows....nobody has the right to say you shouldn't....morals does not make one superior over another....just my take on life.

After reading your replies in numerous threads of recent on this subject and the ridicule that came from your fingers and you think I am about to tell you where to go?? You got part of it right, I'll tell you where to go but, water will not be invloved.

Mole hill?? If someone had not made an mountain out of it almost 60 years ago, where would fishing in this wonderful state be? Like KS????

I noticed that he even had some RR property posted as his own. That is the UnderCliff Campground. Which from what I heard the other day is about to set Prater off into orbit.

LOL! Nope, never was a roofer. He has been retired almost 10 years. No, it came from another productive spot. If I ever get you down here, I put you in front and let you have a ball! Sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I know its going to be tough when I have to experience it for myself. Although I am trying to prepare myself for what I know it going to happen in just a few seemingly short years.

This weeks pic is one of my dad on a trip we took a couple of years ago. If you notice, he is in the front seat. Not a normal place for him. Even at the age of 73, I can't hardly get him out of the back of a canoe when we float. The old saying goes...take a kid fishing. Well that goes the other way too. Take a dad fishing!

Jealousy will get you nowhere son.

GOP = Good Ol' Petroleum. They always give the speech that we are a oil based nation. Green tech is not proven. Well ding dongs, do you remember what they said about the horseless carriage? In fact if one does a little research you will find that Ford and Diesel vision was operate on a renewable resource. Alcohol. But due to either Ghetty or Rockefeller, I think it was the latter, and his power with the gov. it was not to be. Quite a read. Not so different over 100 years later after we wised up. We have the tech to make all of our oil based econ needs from a renewable source. It is just amazing what you can get from corn and soybeans.

As you all know, I had a meeting with Mr. Copeland this morning. It lasted about 30 minutes and was very cordial and informative. As I began speaking, some of the things that I stated, started to show a pattern of harassment from this particular land owner. I made my points on the rights of floaters as afforded by the 1954 court case. He agreed with all points. I was very surpised in that he seemed to know and agreed to all of these points without knowing about the court case itself. To keep it short and sweet, it was stated to me that we as floaters have rights to the high water mark. You cannot litter or cause any type of property damage. He stated that he does not know where the high water mark is but, if you stay on the gravel bar you will not be tresspassing. If you are on an island surrounded by the stream, you are not tresspassing. If a landowner shows up and orders you to leave, do not engage in a shouting match. Do not do anything that may be viewed as a threat. Basically everything that is in the Elder vs. Delcour case was conveyed to me as being ok. In closing, he offered his personal cell number and told me to call him if I needed too. To me that was some class and a strong gesture that he will protect our rights as he said he would. But (yeah its that word) he will also protect the rights of the land owner. And I totally agree with that. It shouldn't ever have to come to the point where it has come but, it has. I was asked to stay away from this section of river and let things cool off. And I will. He also stressed that he doesn't want a group coming in and floating this section to test the waters. I gave my word that I would work with him and keep others out for a cool off period. Now I know what you are thinking. "Chief, what right do you have to keep us off a stretch of water that you just fought to float? You can't keep us off of any stretch of water!" And you are absolutely correct. But you don't know where this stretch is other than it is on Shoal Creek near Neosho. And the fellas that did come on this float are a great bunch of stand up guy's that will honor my request. But if you do want to float this section, I'll see you in October. And speaking of honoring request, I would like to thank those that responded to my request and were brave enough to sign your name on the dotted line and in a adult manner. Sadly though, some couldn't. But for those it was typical and was expected.

A few more. Poor Dylan got sick before we even got started but wasn't about to go home. The little booger puked twice during the trip but, as you can see, still managed to catch some fish. Here is Dylan with nice brownie. I guess that is all for now. I am having trouble posting. Must be the storm.

Sorry I am so tardy with pics from the annual Spring Float. I had a couple of issues to contend with. But now that they are cleared up, here are the pics. This is hopper's beautiful homemade canoe. hopper working his popper! Hey! Wait for me guy's! Here is woodman sleeking down the river. Cricket hoisting up a fine Shoal Creek bass.

I have an 8am meeting with the sheriff in the morning. And yes I had a warrant for my arrest. Also we have had almost 500 views on the "Petition" thread but only about 25 brave enough to sign on the dotted line. This effects/affects all of us. If you like to fish the waterways of this state, you need to make your voice heard.

I want everyone that fishes the streams and rivers of Missouri to voice their concern here about their right as given to them by the Missouri Supreme Court. Even if you don't live in this state but fish it, you still have the right. Please keep it professional and on the upper level. We are all outstanding fisherman and though we may not agree on some issues, I am positive we stand united on this one. Much like a petition, we need as many to sign on to this thread as we can. Really every member of this forum should have a concern.
-
Yeah I got some pics coming this evening. I'll put them in the REPORT thread. Look for them there. Thanks for the concern ness. As of this moment, I am still a free man. And I think wayne has a great idea. That is what WE ALL NEED TO DO. And it goes along with what Al is saying. Now is the time to band together! Let's stand for our rights under the law. Nothing more, nothing less. I think I will start one other thread on this subject for everyone that has a concern for their right to fish the streams of Missouri that has alread been awarded to us needs to post to this thread. I urge you to keep them on a professional level and I will show them to Mr. Copeland.
-
I am glad you did too! This is exactly what needs to be done by all that were there. You might make mention that you felt threatened and intimidatedby the gun toter who mysteriously dissappeared when the law showed up. Also it may be a good idea to relate to Ken of the revenue you are bringing with the purchse of food, gas, and lodgeing. Follow me here. I will be going to his office in a couple of days to meet with him. If you all will do this, I think that when I get there, he will have a pretty clear picture. I will print the info from the links I provided and then see what his stance is and if favorable, see that he expresses that with his deputies.

You won't belive this. I was informed by my boss today that Prater called one of our commisioners and said he had an arrest warrant out on me.

In times past, I used to always post a Friday Fishin Foto. Due to computer issues I stopped. I hope I have that behind me now and resume posting. I usually only post one pic. But my pic for today is a little different. I am actually going to post 3 this time. These come from last years youth turkey hunt. Dylan and I met my uncle near El Dorado Springs for the two day hunt. During the first afternoon, we went fishing Weaubleau Creek. The fishing was much better than the hunting. In addition to some perch, Dylan also caught this trio. Not to bad for some creek fishing!
