  1. My family stoped using dawt several years ago, and now use sunburst. They are great to work with and have been our takeout of choice for several years.
  2. Thanks for the info. That is what I was afraid of. It will save me some driving, when I now have to stop at blunks.
  3. Does anyone know if the gentleman just below McCord bend still grants river access for $3? I had heard that he sold the place to someone else and they were not granting access. Thanks. David
  4. I have floated most of the James at one time or another, and have floated from Hooten Town down to Galena on a three day trip. It was nice and did not see many folks. Most anytime you can stay on the river at night, is a good time.
  5. I agree with Glorydaze on the Jacks Fork. We normaly float from 17 Highway bridge down to Rymers Access. This is a 9.4 mile float and it one of the best in the state. There is good camping at Jam Up Cave which is 5.8 miles into the float. I have caught some good smallmouths through there, but it is a trophy section. Must be over 18" to keep and only 2 per day.
  6. I went on a quick trip after work below River Cut and fished from the bank. I caught 4 rock bass and 1 pumpkin seed. I was hopping to find some whites, but no luck.
  7. Osceola was packed. We put in at Roscoe and saw several boats with decent fish on. I do not think the spoonbill have move up yet. The fish that were caught, were probably local fish.
  8. The weather was nice, so we went yesterday afternoon to the big sac. Put in at the EE bridge and went up. Caught one white on the way up the river and saw a gentleman fishing from the bank catch 3 whites in about 10 minutes. Came back down to EE bridge and caught 12 at dark. They were biting the normal white bass lures.
  9. Sunday afternoon, we floated from Kissick Dam down to Hwy. 160 bridge. It was a nice day with 16-18 black bass, the largest being 17 inches. We did not catch a single smallmouth. I can also report that the water was too cold for swimming. I would recommend that you stop fishing before you enter the riffle with the stump in the middle. We didn’t and got wet. We didn’t loose anything but our dignity, though. All in all, still a good trip.
