nice story squirrel pie. I have fished the trophy trout area in the late 70's early 80's and it was a lot easier to walk (climb). cardic and suicide hills then due to the fact i was 20 or 30 years younger back then. i used to catch lots of trout browns and rainbows on bait corn, worms minnows before they changed to artificial only, now its a little harder but just as good. i use roostertails in the spring and micros other times. it gets good about the middle of march after trout (rainbows) escape from maramac springs. if you float try to start at meramac springs. the first mile above ( hwy8 bridge access) is slow, alot of paddling, try Greens I think they have a contract with the park but dont hold me to it.
