hey chief cool shot just the other day we were down on the elk and ran into a turtle i quess was laying her eggs dont know what kind it is? any body know? see couple pics

last night after dark we launched at gracies take out hog heaven i was fishing my new favorite black chug bug hooked mr big on second cast floated the rest of the way without any luck got up first thing this morning and launched from the heaven headed to riverside caught at least 15 on a pumpkin colored tube most of these were small there was a couple good ones i tried my chug bug but the wind was whipping and i think that might be why they didnt hit it see one good pic the river is awesome now plenty of water almost completely cleared up saturday should be a zoo i have never counted but i would say 2000 boats go by on a busy saturday is that crazy any way float during the week and you wont have to deal with the idiot parade keep floating russ

hey kayaker the water is on the rise and slightly stained from all that recent rain should be perfect by friday fish are biting podum actually i am planning on buying a couple rafts on thusday also we have an awesome canoe called the scanoe squareback monster you could easily take it with two kids we rented it last weekend and they had 3 girls 14, 8 and 5 keep in touch i will let you know on the rafts keep flaoting russ

podum you could use any kind of craw bait/jig/tube crawbait/crankbait try top water see ya on thursday keep floating russ

i thinking of changing my name to chug bug i have had a blast catching these fish on top water we leave the heaven around 6-7 pm float and fish to riverside till well after dark see pics keep floating get out and paddle russ

coutney and i lauched at 4:30 pm at lannagan take out low water bridge (tressel) i caught a nice one within the first three casts bite seemed a little slow after that ended up with 6 fish 2 real nice ones rest were dinky see couple pics this float right now is fun and not very many people float this stretch during the week keep floating russ

redfish, ken and myself went from the falls to riverside let me tell you the bite was on i caught a bunch in a hurry on a tube when we got to the elk (from lil sugar) the bite seemed to stop after a while i tied on my favorite chug bug and caught quite a few with it redfish hooked mr big at his PRIVATE SUGAR HOLE no one know where it is except him he measured and said it was bigger than his 18 inch ruler :D see pics it was a perfect float and fish also we picked up a bunch of trash from the idiot parade my new camera has 10x optical and 10.1 mega picxels keep floating russ sorry having problems uploading pics will deal with tommorrow

we made it through ok no drama i bet 3 thousand boats floated by the heaven in the last three days i want to thank all the nice people i met this weekend and the nice people that helped when it was raining on monday i was smiling because people start packing up there stuff and they go away faster i got me a new camera and i think i will go fishing tonight and take some pics need some away from humans and closer to fish time keep floating russ

kc let em know if you want to run that stretch i think it would be a good over nighter i dont know if cowskin is still open or what but we can work a deal that we meet at cowskin leave your rig go to the ball fields and put you in when ever you get to your car you are done let me know russ

the river is finally coming down to a good level i can hear the masses of people coming over the hill all outfitters have rented all of there boats on saturday that is a ton of boats we are getting ready for the smack :huh: drive safe keep floating russ

the river has been flooded for some time now and we got almost 2 inches of rain at the heaven yesterday floating only advised for experienced paddlers wear your life jacket we almost had an issue already this year with a paddler that got himself in a bind and was not wearing a life jacket the water is still cold and takes your strength away quickly we haven't been able to fish either too stained and moving too fast be safe keep floating russ

on wednesday we put in at lannagan i think about 20 fish were caught all on a tube i had grey color red was fishing pumpkin thursday evening we put in at hog heaven take out riverside i was fishing the tube and was not getting any bites we saw fish jumping and hitting the surface so i tied on my personal favorite chug bug and the bite was on :D i was shocked :o caught a couple nice ones down by reds beach was a nice evening to float sorry phil i forgot my camera again keep floating russ

jean ann, redfish and i put in at lannagan last evening bite was on :D we had good luck on the tube i lost count i caught so many i thought about 40 red and jean ann said about 15 see couple pics hey guys on that portage spot you were talking about it is close to indian summer campground the last two times i was through there it was still a bad spot portage river left it is a long portage pack light keep floating russ

the river was on the rise big time till the crest at about 6:00 pm at hog heaven campground completely under water fish were just getting ready to start biting and got all that rain/hail speaking of hail redfish and i were putting the bass boat in when the hail storm came and beat us up we waited a half hour and went out there and caught 5 fish i was shocked keep floating/fishing russ

i would like to thank redfish,zhoyt and the rest for picking up trash floating down the river in a jon boat loaded with a dish washer and a 55 gallon drum was fun in itself we will schedule another one soon thanks again keep floating russ

my first kayak was yelo so i named it colonel mustard then i got the yelo canoe was surfing the net and found the story of the general slocum it is an amazing story we actually floated at night the first day i named that boat and on the way back we lost it out of the back of the truck and it was hard to find in the dark it has scuff marks from going 45 mph down h highway just call the land line if you want to camp or float 417-223-2369 river is awesome russ
