we went up to powell floated to cyclone cant believe how many eagles and hawks we saw we did not bring fishing poles water was awesome just enough to float a kayak stopped for a shore lunch for some grub this one was one of my personal favorite floats keep floating russ

we have been fishing the elk either from hog heaven to riverside or hog heaven to low water fish have been steady leading up to the full moon we were catching largemouth 6 to 1? during the year its small mouth 6 to 1? quite a few real nice ones were caught i have pulled out my favorite chug bug and caught them on top water action right before dark sorry phil no pics keep floating russ

fishing up on big sugar is as good as it gets a couple of these fish were QUALITY lots of goggle eyes were also caught i read somewhere they call them ozark bass see pics keep floating russ

courtney and i loaded the yaks headed for indian creek we floated twice from lannagan to low water bridge waves were awesome water warmer than the air very chilly at the end get out and paddle now or you will get a paddling keep floating russ

the river has crested at hog heaven and is on the fall the fishing will not be good for a while on the elk (stained and flooded) we floated the indian last night we were dreaming of big waves until we got there and the creek had come up a little but it was clear as a bell :huh: i wish i would have brought my fishing rod instead of my whitewater skirt any ways the waves were still fun we got to the elk and it was rolling i could touch the bottom of low water bridge with my hand as i went under it floated to two sons and had a blast dreaming of going to the mulberry keep floating russ

it is the bridge we put in after the the 9 floods erased a gorge on the river bed/campground (not important) we are gonna float tonight i will take camera and post 9-5-08 keep floating russ

when i woke up this morning the bridge leading to our campground is under water i think its still on the rise this weekend should be a blast :D :D reserve your yak now keep floating russ

saturday morning first light i was on the elk before the idiot parade floated from hog heaven to riverside caught a bunch of fish river condition was good does any one know what species have a late spawn i saw beds galore see pic of smallie with belly full?????????????????????????????? with all this rain tune into elk river for river conditions updated daily the one big smallie dragged me and the colonel mustard to the bank at a pretty wide spot just down from the heaven we made it through the weekend ok but some drunk floater stole the short bus from two sons campground he didnt crash he just parked it in river ranches parking lot and went to partying with his buddies we had it back within 20 mins or so and the dude spent the night in the tank with 30-35 of the finest citizens in the area karma is something keep floating russ

thanks to ken and derek at gracies they gave me a shuttle to craig o lee put in around 5:45 no humans in sight i had my favorite chug-bug on and fished it for about 30 minutes with no bites so i switched to the wacky and in about 10 minutes hooked mr big and he was dragging me and the colonel mustard down river i was trying to grab my camera and he got free he was QUALITY then i came up on three deer, i got close and spooked them and they eased on into the woods could not get a camera angle on them quick enough river condition is perfect right now fished all the way to gracies lost count somewhere along the way i tried to hold a fish in my right hand and take pic with my left, well i was lucky not to drop the camera into the river needless to say that fish got free before the shot did manage a good shot on a nice fish see pic keep floating russ

after a good rest we are gonna open up for a month or two starting on 8-18-08 we had a great year come enjoy the fall fishing and camping please call in advance it helps jean ann and i to get ready the swimming holes are perfect fishing is awesome crowds are down keep floating russ

we floated with the parade on saturday and it was a smack fest but it was fun it rained the whole day sometimes hard most of the time just steady rain the girls invented nature water control hats see pics

we put in at craig o lee water was not going over the bridge at all flow is still good water clarity excellent see pics p.s. this was before rain big sugar up and stained as of monday the 11th

thanks guys that does help people have changed the way i look at people i guess a 3 week bass fishing binge would get my mind right the fish are biting like crazy now river is still flowing good but i sat at the heaven and watched the floaters get stuck on this one shallow spot right in front of our boat launch haven't heard the sound of canoes dragging all year i have had a blast with the remote control boat ripping up these rapids just up river from heaven if you hit it just right the whole boat comes completely out of the water tell every one CARPE DIUM that is not a mixed breed crappie it means SEIZE THE DAY love to all Russ

sorry to say we are closed for a summer break dealing with the idiot parade has taken me to the dark side two sons and gracies are floating boats in august we plan on re-opening for labor day weekend we hope to have some bands and do a hogfest 2008 all that is still up in the air i think we might just do fishing trips in september hog heaven needs to change maybe russ needs to change either way this is how i am gonna try thanks russ
