i got to sneek out and go fishing early on the third and it was awesome see pics a couple of these fish were QUALITY keep floating russ

Jean Ann and myself launched at around seven pm from the heaven headed to riverside i caught a smallie off the bank on the wacky before we launched caught a couple more in the first deep hole then jean ann threw the wacky by a wad of trees and hooked mr big she fought him for a while and then he was taking the drag and got hung up in the limbs i paddled back to help and i worked the line out and pulled mr big out it was a large mouth and it was a quality fish his belly was so full it looked like pre spawn this was one of the nicest fish she has caught on this river once again i forgot the camera sorry phil i will remember next time it got closer to dark and i switched to my favorite chug bug without any luck this time keep floating russ ps the river is so awesome right now!

6-17-08 leah,sean,shahan, jean ann, 3 renters and myself launched at deep ford leah yard saled shahan yard saled everyone else made it over craig olee sun came out at the end at it was a nice float 6-18-08 my fishing trip started on the tarmac at xna i was headed to california when the pilot said we are gonna deboard you because of a plane issue so i hit the door running with fishing on my mind jean ann and myself launch from the heaven headed to riverside with our fishing poles we fished the wacky but the water is moving so fast it makes it difficult to get the wacky to the bottom maybe a heavy jig head with craw might work better? so we tied on some top water baits and fished up in this slough and caught a few it started to get dark and chilly so we decided to paddle the sunset was an awesome color of red we had some cheesy waterproof camera hope the shot turns out russ the water is clearing up nicely big sugar should be ready to catch some fish keep paddling russ campground is accessible by foot now

well the weekend was a slop fest with all the rain the big campgrounds had to evacuate from the rising river and at 2:30 in the morning can you imagine waking up the drunken dead to move all of there stuff thank goodness we had no one on our campground because it was under water before all that rain only one outfitter was floating on sat witch was stupid i heard a girl went over the dam at noel and somehow lived i also heard that river patrol and first responders had to save 4 lives we decided not to rent on sunday for safety reasons and i am glad jean ann and i went riding around to look at the river and such when we got to low water bridge it was a panic scene i saw some dude yelling at a river patrol man this idiot had a little baby in his hands nothing shocks me any more three girls in a canoe 1 on top of a cooler dumped and had to be saved the river is falling fast by mid week it should be somewhat back to normal to be ohnest what is normal anymore? so it was getting around 5 on sunday we called my sister leah and said lets go run the big sugar so we loaded up 3 yaks and off we went to deep ford we put in there and ran over craig o lee it was awesome i was in the crazy 88 and that boat is crazy we stopped right after that to dump water out of our boats then this group of kids on tubes with a dog in a jife jacket go over craig o lee the dog panics and darn near drowns i have come to the conclusion you cant fix stupid any ways that run right now is yakers dream keep floating russ

we did not have the best of luck we were on the north side of windsor up from london landing b v is awesome i dont fish there as much as i yust to but i traded my pontoon boat for a jeep with my buddy who lives on lake rayburn so the boat is his headache now and i just get to fish out of it russ the top water bite last year was awesome in the late summer and early fall walt and terry both caught fish on big o jitterbugs at night last weekend keep floatin and fishin russ

walt, terry jean ann and myself launched from the heaven sun evening just before dark we had two trucks at the take out walt and terry stayed later we all caught some fish but did not catch a bunch water moving fast and in a kayak kind of makes it a challenge we could see the storm coming from the west walt and terry told me the next morning what they did it goes like this they loaded the kayaks in the truck and decided to fish on foot so they crossed the river at riverside and when they got there a huge gust of cold air hit them so they crossed back and let me tell you the water is above your knees and moving very swiftly so they were close to the truck and a huge tree fell like right next to them needless to say they got scared strom moved in and dumped 2 inches then it rained most of moday river crested at 10.3 so on monday night we took the pontoon and went to lake windsor in bella vista caught a bunch of brim and small largemouth bass baited the jugs and caught some catfish keep floating or whatever makes you happy just being close to water and i am happy russ

dude i am sorry never crossed my mind i will have to make a mental note did he let you keep your poles it looked like to me that cowskin was closed i need some info about that float did you fish after that or just float i went to an outfitter meeting last year with the mdc as a host this year i was unable to attend but they said they are trying to make a presence and from what i have seen they are the mdc boat went by at least three times yesterday we saw him running up the indian creek from the elk they are probably having a blast running the river with there power boats also i a m hearing alot of stories about dumping boats and boats hung up in trees when you have stupid then you pour alcohol on it its a bad combination keep in touch russ p.s you got a $5 credit on your next time p.s.p.s we had just went to the beach when you pulled up because red said he drove around you

you can google and get an idea there is also a ozark streams book that has all the little creeks and such if you have a topo map of missouri those are pretty good let me know what your thinking and we can coordinate russ

ok i bet your getting tired of the we floated blah blah blah so it was just me put in at the heaven at 5pm with all the intentions of catching fish i must have been moving to fast to catch them i didnt get a solid bite for quite a while changed lures 4 times (chug bug,craw bait,spinner bait, wacky) then i was down river just from reds beach i threw the wacky in this big eddie and the first fish almost ripped my arm off he hit it like a freight train maybe he was swimming the opposite direction i was floating i dont know then i paddled for a while took a couple of nature shots then i was down by tressel and hooked mr big this was a real nice fish put up a fight and a half see pics russ aka w/w

we put in at deep ford around 5 just barely sprinkling the water is crystal clear there is still a couple of strainers to watch out for the water level is down and not quite as strong as it has been still scout your run if you dont know it hope the storms stay away i want to catch a fish i have the itch as bad as ever keep paddling russ

the stretch from lannagan to low water (tressel) its about 3.5 miles and it is a blast in a kayak we call the first run the 8 minute run because within the first eight minutes of your trip you are gonna get wet the stretch is about 1/4 mile run and it drops real nice first time was red, jean ann and i second run craig, red and i third run was just red and i we put in and didnt know there was a tornado coming it ended being a little north of where we were the winds were kicking and in about ten minutes it was nice and sunny didnt get rained on at all keep paddling russ

we put in at the heaven around 6 floating to mt shira i started fishing with a countdown rapala caught three right off the bat jean ann started with the wacky and got into a little slough and caught two in a row the second one i helped her get off the hook and it was a real nice smallie 1.5 to 2.0 pounder the bite has started and it sure was fun to wet a line i have noticed beds in the water more and more i think the spawn is a little late this year maybe all the flooding after that i switched to the wacky and hooked a real nice one about the same size as jean ann after low water red switched to a jitter bug and caught a real nice one also get out and float real soon russ sorry i forgot the camera, next time i will not

jean ann, river john and i put in at deep ford with plans of running over craig o lee i was a little scared being that the last time i went over it i yard saled so we all hit it and made it over fine then river john wanted to run the narly spot down from sugar island well he got hung up and he made it out ok but the boat, paddle and miniskirt all lodged in the tree root we fished all that out and floated on down to the heaven water level is falling still above normal water clearing up nicely there should be some hungry fish in there keep foatin russ

just give me the heads up we will shut the campground down and go for a road trip last time we went from high bank to turner i am 100 percent in ken dont get into the habit of asking you have to pre-plan a trip and EXPLAIN to her how its gonna work me my self i will be taking the missis with us its alot easier that way russ

ken i can tell you the mulberry is a blast give me a call and maybe we can run it some time soon we went last evening and saved a hung up canoe for some folks they were very happy to get there boat back also ken from gracies said that a boy almost drowned at the narly spot down from sugar island he also went up there with a chainsaw and the strainer is gone keep in touch it was nice to meet you & thanks for the kind words russ
