  1. Guys thanks so much for the suggestions and recommendations. I realize that smallmouth fishing with a fly rod is less than ideal during the winter but figured it would at least be fun to float the river and if I pick up some smallies then it's a bonus. I have a drift boat so floating and getting to the good spots is pretty easy, plus I can anchor up at the good holes. Last question to everyone...if it wasn't the gasconade what other rivers would you head to for winter/spring smallmouth fishing? Thanks in advance.
  2. Hey gents- I am wanting to do some more flyfishing for smallmouth and was wondering if the gasconade is worth my time during the winter? I am looking at the section of the gasconade that has special smallmouth regulations and managed as a trophy area for floating in a drift boat. I do quite a bit of fly fishing for trout but have an itch to get after some smallmouth with a fly rod. Not asking for anyone to give up any secrete spots but just have you had luck on the gasconade in the winter and how were you fishing for em? Please feel free to pass along any advice or suggestions even if it includes recommendations to go else where or other rivers. Feel free to PM if you wish. Thanks
  3. Lancer, thank you very much for the suggestions and reply. I am actually selling this for my father who won it at a raffle and already has two other 6 weight rods, thus it will just sit in a corner collecting dust. I will be able to post pics, however I have been fishing the white river the past few days. Leaving tonight to avoid the storm hitting tonight/tomorrow and will post pics when I get home and take some.
  4. Gentlemen- I have bought and sold hundreds of items on eBay throughout the years. For me personally, the more information I can be given regarding an item I may purchase the better/safer I feel bidding on this item. Yes, it may read like an eBay posting...probably because I have posted and sold many many many items on eBay before. I guess my question is why would anyone care how it reads? Does someone on this site read a classified posting and think "hmmm sounds like an eBay posting...I am not gonna buy this"?? Instead of posting this on eBay I figured I would post it here first and see if anyone locally (within the Ozarks region) would like to purchase this before listing nationally. I am more than happy to provide pictures upon request. Brian, feel free to PM me and discuss/describe what you would do differently (besides adding pics) to make this more of a "Ozarks" classified add and less eBayish. Thanks
  5. Just trying to sell some fishing equipment I have laying around the house that I am not using. Trying to give the potential buyer the most info I have. Are you saying you would rather have a one-liner with no description and make everyone reply/message for additional info? Any particular way a post in the classified section should read? Thanks

The color is camo/tan/grey. The only alteration to the fly is that the front welded loop was removed and a short 6 inch section of amnesia nail-knotted on with a perfection loop added (the perfection loop is just slightly larger than the regular welded loop to make loop to loop connections easier). This is Rio's new top of the line fly line that retails for $90.00 brand new. Thanks for looking Here is Rio's description of the fly line: RIO PERCEPTION New for 2014. Unique three-color SureFire system ensures deadly accurate distance control ConnectCore improves casting timing, hook set and mending
