  13. didn't fish..http://good-times.webshots.com/slideshow/561789830wgvaqv
  14. well yes, i went ? it was a ball! it started off friday morning in thick fog! and that made for a fun ride over the mountain and thru the woods. got to ozark campground and met up with two others for are float. we shuffled boats and took off to eurbie( the water was below the curb.) so picking the right path way was key, other wise you needed to push thru the gravel, it was right at a min. flow i would say. about 10 the sun popped out and boy that was nice!at lunch we pulled up to a rock ledge, and off came the layers! (we looked like river turtles sunning ) so back to the canoes, and down river we go! saw 4 eagles 2 in tree tops and 2 flying. and a big doe walking in the stream, an otter in the water, and all kinds of beaver sign . found two large trails where the elk cross the river but never saw any.around 2 it clouded over, and cooled off, and back on with the layers. got back to the takeout about 4, and all of our group hadn't made it yet. so while a couple of guys ran to pick-up cars and trucks, i helped set up tents. right at dark 30 ,cars and people started to show up we had 15 for sat. and nine stayed to float on sat. am run the weather was looking bad from the weather station. but it held off for are whole trip.... or at least untill we were all loaded and going back to ozark from hasty. and then the wind and cold made a return.....we had gusts that blew everything off the table tops!some even had to use logs to keep tents in place. then it started to rain! maybe an hour, then turned into sleet, and that turned to snow! and then the bottom dropped out ... bone chilling cold! took some time for coffee, we had to thaw water . but first we had to chip water bottles out of the coolers that were rock hard. the people that laid out there wet paddling stuff found them rock hard in the morning.. all in all it was truely a great time !
  15. it's hard to plan at trip you start off with sunny and 65 temps and end it 23 degrees and blowing sleet
  16. i'm not saying you can't catch fish! but chances of landing something nice are very few, and even farther apart on that section of water. it's a shame thats all . and i would hate to be fooled into going with the intent "it could" have some good ones?
  17. yeah! right..... size doesn't matter!!
  18. don't lie to the poor guy! tell him! ......about all it's good for is to look at!...with the wild idea that you'll have a good day of fishing. unless your following that big tanker full of fish..... they have spent millions with all the trout unlimited funding, building a set of stairs and dumping rocks on some pallets for habitat,(great job)..but it got worse! then the do a stupid slot on fish .hhmmmm' hello!!! why? ohhh, so the baby fish grow-up to be big ones! it never happened before? your fees paid for larger fish thats why one less on limits. what a joke on us, the guys that pay for it all.. you want the truth look in the phone book for trout guides around beaver? maybe three, then look at bull couple hundred?? you following me?... why is cotter the trout capital, (BECAUSE THEY HAVE FISH IN THE RIVER !!! sorry about blowing off, but you need to put a big red X ON THE BEAVER TAILWATERS .... the average fisherman has that one day to do what we love, don't send him there!
  19. heading to the ozark campground, off hwy 7 floating fri, and sat, maybe sun too! come for all of it, or just the good parts....there will be a good sized group from the arkansas canoe club. so if you want just show-up "a good time will be had by all"
  20. don't do it!.......... total waste of fishing time ,spent driving.
  21. beard's scenic? not sure of that one but i'm thinking you are talking about the white river, west fork of it!!
  22. it was cookin'... we caught it at the 3.86 level ,i had my float bags pumped up, and my whitewater helmet on with full wet suite. it was great for 37 degrees ....never should have stopped for lunch though, thats when it got cold! after standing around .at the take out i fired up the old van heater to the max and never turned it off the whole way home, my feet are still cold!
  23. ..yes it was cold and windy, but when the river comes up you just have to go. we didn't see anyone all day! but did see some beavers, otters and the deer. one almost ran us over at the take-out, a 6 point just walked down to us about 5 feet away and then stopped to drink some water, we just stood still and watched in amazement! i think i could have knocked him out with my paddle ...BUT DIDN'T and on the way home the boxley valley was just lined with elk.... a great a day was had !!
  24. is it ever TO BAD to go fishing?
