eurbie to ozark on friday morning!!! camping . and then hasty to carver>>> show up! just to fish if nothing else!
  2. on the way home i stoped at the 45 bridge and the water is flowing still, and then i stoped at (pinhook) and the water was like glass you could see the shad working the waters surface and i saw two fish roll-up and boil water i was there for about 20 min.... then on my deck you can see them boiling near the shoneline but there were no boats in sight! dead still waters?
  3. the island at neals bluff? about two miles up from bluesprings now,( i have caught them under the bridge)they are following the shad up into the river arms , and there not just there yet.
  4. not that far, but they'll be real close. we got that rain and it discolored the water a bit, on the whiteriver, but i still have the guide boats here just around from point 12... about and hour befor daylite and the water color on this side is good to go!
  5. alright then you got first shot at the next one!...( white hull with red stripe, wood rail) so you need to find the matching truck between now and then!! LOL !
  6. save your cash for a pair of waders !and go below anyone of the dams in the area!( anyone of them) you'll do much better! dogwood you're kiddin' me right!
  7. war eagle arm is looking good !! i have seen guide boats all week, this would be the time to hook one! river water has cleared up on this end , but the upper white sill is off colored looking at it near goshen's hwy 45 bridge .
  8. tippet7, thats the way it looks as a package!.......>>> and to you river runner <<i'm not really sure ?it has the live well as a bench seat in the middle just like the river rat,and the back seat/deck is just like the rat,( large opening to stuff the 6 gallon tank and the start battery under) and the big dome looking seatmounts are not like the river rat? has the wooden motor mount on the side ,that offsets with the driver, this boat came from flippin. someone working at ranger or basscat copied a mold, or a buddy deal, who knows?? i've had it 5 or six years runs good with a 7 1/2hp. and flys with the 25.. will fish 4 no problem .
  9. i have a ozark white river trout boat 20 ft 33inch wide on a trailer will sell with or without motor. it has a new evinrude trolling motor (hi thrust) 12 volt mounted on the front. i used a evinrude electric start18/ 20 hp. for a long time on it . then got a 25 merc pull start. i want the 25 for my new boat but will package it any way you want. boat and trailer ($1900) add $350 for trolling motor add$375 for evinrude 20, or add $2200 for the 25 merc......... i'm going to repaint the inside in the next few days ,and i can test drive it any time after that, im in north west ark. and need to sell this my new boat is on it's way!!!!!!!

we fished all day sat, nothing but 14 to 16 inch fish ,and then right thru the rain storms on sunday but it all was worth while, fish the same size on sunday.no little ones at all, we floated pruit to hasty, and then hasty to carver ,and we camped at carver...by the way,( the water is off at most of the campgrounds, but we had water at carver ) and camping is free! till they turn it back on! driving home water was pouring off the mountain, all the creeks and ditches were flowing good... and the elk are still in the valley ,i saw them just befor dark along the road. about 20 or so of them..
  12. it's on..... in the river>> war eagle arm! point 12.. they were splashin' it up big time tonight! just befor dark, i'm watching the guys fishing, off my deck i can see them ziging and zaging from side to side it's either white or stripers?

the river was wild and wet on the upper run from steel creek to kyles landing>> all the fish came in the wee last light around 5:15..... the trees have really turned on!! .. second days run, we floated from kyles to eurbie and again the late afternoon bite was the the deal! i have never seen so many hikers on the buffalo in my life! both sides at times , and you had to keep and eye out for the horsrback riders crossing the river. but what a day! we only saw two other canoes, sunny and the wind at your back!....... (this was a good level to mark!)low but never had to get out. and floated all the way!
  16. camping tonight( fri) at kyles landing, and fishing ponca to kyles then from kyles to eurbie sat and sun! >>>>> come if you want too!
  17. you could but you don't fish with green tubes!!
  18. boxley valley, near the ponca access saw them on my way in ,and then again on my way out .some really big bulls in the group, you can't miss them it's were all the cars are lined up on the side of the road!! the fall colors are going strong!!
  19. because.... THEY TURNED ME IN TO THE SNORE PATROLL AT THE PARK !! ( kathy the park ranger) and I WAS FORCED TO SLEEP IN MY VAN! she came by every night to make sure i wasn't upsetting the other campers!!!! but she came by any time ( i think she was sweet on jim and wayne!)
  20. well our gasganade trip, turned out to be a buffalo trip instead! a pretty darn good one at that! we floated the first day tyler bend to gilbert and the second day we went up stream to baker's ford and came back to tyler both trips were in the 5 mile range . we'd put in around 9 30 after biskets and gravy and be loaded and heading back to camp at 530 to make it too the b b q place by 8
  21. ok, i just got home the trip, it was re-routed to the buffalo! but thats a differant stoy .....pattern didn't hold true ! so here's the skinny on it. it was a floating repala! 3 inch black and silver ...i would cast it out 8 to 10 feet off the bank long cast from the canoe, and just.... DEAD STICK IT! after the rings from landing on the water would dissapear>>>> don't move at all ! a small twitch or even lifting the line made all the differance . you had to not do anything i mean ,dead still, then the sun fish (blue gill ) would come up and "pop" at it, and the second, or third time it was a goodie that would slurp it under and the fight was on!! this worked both days on a afternoon bite! and we put them all back!
  22. ok, after catching so many fish in the 10 to 14 inch size the 17 3/4 was a monster to me!! and the other 16 1/2 inchers, but they were so fat .like 4 inches thich . and we caught them in about 10 inches of water? so when i set the hook they just tail walked the river!! pulling the canoe up stream . 4lb test and ultra lite gear!! i had my hands full for a little while !!!! and i left them there in the river so your kids could catch them!!
  23. well lets just say from hootntown down stream to marble ground is not boat friendly at this level! and kerr to the james river outfitter was skinny but floatable? and smallies were the target fish, tubes worked but the river bottom was filled with large chunk rock and you would get hung-up every third cast.this change was the key ! we needed lures that wouldn't hit on the bottom.and buddy we tossed the tackle box at them,we'd pick off one or two off a rock pile ,or a downed tree , the biggest fish came out of water so shallow it was hard to belive they could hide!..... at this point i can't tell you what the (magic bait ) was. we have a trip to the gasganade this weekend and i can't let the cat out of the bag just yet!! 'cuase i'm going to whip it on them!! and if my pattern holds i'll report in full on monday.
  24. took a weekend trip to the james river with jim ne\ok. the water was skinny all 10 miles we floated! we camped at the jamesriver outfitter(nice camp ground). morning lows mid 40's ,daytime in high 70's not a cloud in the sky..... oh, the fishing!....was great! landed three monsters!and too many little ones to count! never even saw an other person on the water all weekend.
  25. took a trip with a group from the arkansas canoe club. great day! but the water was ice cold and fishing was off ,only caught 2 (in the boat) both were large than normal , but had lots of pick it up, and run with it hits .this float was a short one only 4 miles, and a good one for new floaters
