  1. I floated last Sat. from Deep Ford to Mt. Shira and it was a good float. From Deep ford to Craig o Lee it was kind of low in spots and there was some debris in the river, But from the end of Big Sugar to Mt. Shira it was great. The river is flowing good, all you are going to have to worry about is all the drunk people. Have a good float!

    Little Sugar

Little Sugar, what can I say. It was awesome! Russ, JeanAnn, Leah, Craig, and Redfish, all floated the Little Sugar on friday afternoon. We put in at the bridge behind the Jukebox, (a bar off of US 71) we had someone drop us off there, our plan was to float to Hog Heaven, but that didn't happen. The float was great, there were some obstacles along the way. We had to portage quite a few times, but not until after the White Bluff bridge. About a mile maybe two we started running into log jams. We portaged around a few, nobody wiped out but there were a few close ones. Right before we got to the old Shrimpmens restaurant, there was a real bad log jam and we took out there. It was getting dark and after the amount of log jams it was to dangerous to finish. SAFETY FIRST!!! All n all it was a good float. I would like to try again, but alittle earlier in the day. We put in @ 5 in the afternoon and it just got to late to finish. Maybe we will try again today. Have a nice float and be safe.

    White River

Well me and my buddy Craighole went to the white river yesterday and it was awesome. We put in at brentwood park on old 71 south of fayetteville and tookout at west fork. In the first mile there was a little carnage on the right, it took my hat off and I never found that, a stick caught me below the left eye that hurt alittle but not bad. The next bad spot was probably 5 1/2 miles in when we hit a shallow spot and a change in elevation at the same time sent me into a tree on the left and I lost my paddle but got my boat. I paddled the rest of the river with a long stick, actually it worked pretty well. It was a great float, but it is not for beginners or canoes. The river is narrow and in places shallow. Now, if there was another foot it wouldn't be quite as bad. We didn't do any fishing but by the looks of it, I bet there is some great fishing holes. After the rapids there is some long pools and at the takeout at west fork it looks like a great place. The only reason I say that canoers shouldn't go down it is because it is very narrow at times, it has some narrow steep corners and it was hard enough getting a kayak around some of them. You can try if you like, but I wouldn't advise it. All n all it was a great float and would do it again, but next time I'm bringing an extra paddle. Have a nice float and see you on the river. Red

    White River

Well everyone, I've also floated the mulberry with Russ and it was awesome, but today I'm floating the white river south of fayettville. We are putting in at brentwood on old 71 and taking out at west fork. I think its about 7 mile float and we are going to scout fishing holes this time.I think the water is up to much to catch anything but we will try to find some good looking holes. I will fill you in on the float.
