Oh Boy, more high water! Maybe we can all get together for lunch on Nov.14th. Sounds like a god time to head down to me!!

Hope you all have a good time. I need to check on Riverwood Resort. My wife, parents and I stayed in one of the duplexes in the park a few weeks ago and it was fine EXCEPT for the beds! Like sleeping on box springs only!!!! Very bad. Never do that again.

My anniversary is the 21st so that's out for me. I'll be going in October though.

Oh GREAT! , another one to tie this week in case I get to Bennett this weekend. But if PC says it's good I believe him. He can catch his limit in the parking lot!
-
WOW PC sounds like the fishing was great. I hope to get down over the labor day weekend! Not sure I've heard of the marabou midge?

Please Note: Hound Dog dog food can only be purchased locally near Bennett Springs! ...I was told. I could not convince the young fellow to give me the exact location as it must be a well kept secret....kind of a "if I tell you I'll have to kill you" deal. As far as I could tell you better put the bait on the hook while standing behind a tree or the fish leap right after it. It's that good.

Had a great time as Paola cat said. Weather was GREAT. Nice and cool. I started about 15 til 10 in the morning. fished zone 2. Caught a couple on egg patterns. Caught 4 just below the bluff hole on PMD's..size 20.. about 11:00. There always seems to be some small mayfly hatch there. I love it. Afternoon met up with PC and we fished the fast water just past the bridge. Caught 2 nice ones on Primrose and pearl midge then 2 more on a black zebra midge. About 5 PC took off and my back was hurtin' so I went to zone 3 to see what was going on and maybe drift plastic worm. I drifted a worm and had one taker on a cheese colored worm. I talked to a kid that was getting one every drift. He was using a dough bait made with smashed up Cheezits and Hound dog dog food. Zone 3 is a different world. A good trip!!!

I've decided to go down to Bennet tommorrow morning (8/9). I'll be in a Silver 3 door Toyota Yaris with license PDLCAR. I'll be wearing a dark green hat with a GASTON'S logo on the front. Just in case anyone else is going. Jerry

Thanks for the report. I hope to make it in a couple of weeks for a day trip. The wife and I were at Branson the 4th and 5th. It was HOT but saw a couple of good shows. I did take a little side trip and went to Lilly's Landing to say HI. I even went down to the dock and put my hand in the water! Next time I want to stay there and get some fishing in. The kids will be back in school soon and then the crowds will be lighter at Bennett. Last fall was great.--Jerry

Great report!. I'm about ready to head down again, I think.

Hi Tinner, long time no hear from you. You gotta make it down next time! ...and no divers in the spring. The weather was nice and WARM. I loved it. Jerry

By the way, I do have to admit to using a spinning rod in desperation sat afternoon. My arm was totally roll casted out!! I caught 4 fish on that rig drifting egg patterns and by adding a small shot under a small bobber I was able to cast to the other shore.... Also JJ made me do it!

Rich offered to help me several times and I should have taken him up on it. BUT JJ and I had soooo much fun sitting stream side and giving Rich crap ever time he caught a fish.. like " did he hit the garlic cheese that time?" .The looks on some of the other fisherman faces was priceless. LOL Of course Rich takes it all in stride. I'm looking forward to our next outing!! It's about the only thing that gets me away from the house anymore. Cricket, Thanks for the compliment and hope you can join us more next time.

Dennis, Great to see you guys and meet Sheila. I think fishing will be better once the stream drops to normal. I'll be ready to get together again in a few weeks.

GREAT pics Dennis. Did you do better on Sunday? In that picture I'm actually showing the size of the fish I would have caught if JJ would have shared his garlic Velveeta.

The fishing was SLOW for me be we had a great time!. I 'll post some pics later. It was great talking to those of you I had met last year and meeting the new people. Thank you all for not making fun of my Yaris HB (out loud anyway), except JJ, who greeted me with " So how many clowns can you get in that thing?" LOL The weather for the most part was very nice. The stream was up and flowing fast as you've all probably heard. I spent a lot of time taking pics of no luck (Rich) catching fish. Man, that guy knows his stuff! He picks just the right cheese for the water conditions! : ) I did catch a few sat on pink and yellow glowballs and one on a Olive sculpin pattern fished right on the bottom on the deeper water around the bend from the Holland dam. I left sat evening so I bet Sunday was great fishing. I'll post pics later. Jerry

To All, Sorry KFF can not be there. I have made reservations at the Super8 in Lebanon. Everything else is FULL. I pretty much decided I would really like the comfort if it rains....I've spent my share of sleepless nights chasing the tent around! For 57.00 I guess I'll just do the motel thing. If we could all get together and camp or stay in the same place that would be different. Maybe that could be set up sometime. I would have liked Bennet Spring Inn but thery were full. I'm still not sure when I'm leaving but I'll be there late friday afternoon at the latest. I may leave friday morning and not go inot work at all friday. Cricket, got your cell number also I'll see you up by the gauge house. I'm 61, 200 lbs, grey mustache, dark green ball cap and NO vest. I wear a small chest pack with crap hanging all over it...I mean serious fishing tools. Also Look for the guy hung up in the tree behind him! Rich, Glad your hand is better! If you hook a lunker I'll bre happy to land it for you. I'm really nice that way I might just drop by thompsons and look you up. Glad you and you friend will make it. Dennis, Thanks fo rthe invite on the camping but I'll do the motel this time, I guess. If nothing else I'll see everyone at noon on sat at the resturaunt parking lot. JJ, The only reason I remember your situation with the car locking is because I did the same thing on sunday last year and Rich saved me!! : ) Again my cell is 816-260-3676
