Yeah, I guess you are right. At least there at not kids under foot and zone 3 gets pretty open much of the time. At least the last time I was there. I think FlyFishMaster and I were the only two down there one afternoon.

As far as I can tell the opening for Catch and Release this year is Nov. 8th. I'm thinking about taking off that day and heading down. November is a great time on the stream. I never keep fish anyway so it's nice to be able to fish the whole stream and not fight large crowds. Anyone else going?

Well now we know. I talked to your buddy a bit. I was fishing a P and P also. Probably see you on the stream again. I hope to get back at least the opening of catch nad release if not before. If you keep wearing that hat I recognise you!!!

That was us. We fished for awhile below Holland dam. i saw someone with a big hat fishing with another guy form saint Louis. He walked up beside me and caught a pretty nice fish and the guy in the big hat took a picture. Later the guy in the hat was on the bank and I turned around and said hi and kind of nodded. NoLuck, I guess I need to give scuds another chance. I keep reading about Tan, olive, Light Tan Scuds but never do well on them. I could not get any color of midge to work consistently. I like your trailer BTW. Sweet setup. Oh I forget where you told me where you hide the key!! Heh BTW have you heard anything from JJtroutbum???

Well turns out we were in a white Toyota Ridgeline. I could not remember what my friend had. I have never gone fishing with him before. By the way I did lots of fly changing Sunday. 2 on P and P midge, 2 on black, 2 on olive midge, 2 on dark Brown Roach mini jig, 1 on white. i could not find anyhting consistent unitl up by the spring in the evening on the drys for a period of a hour and a half during a pretty good hatch. That was worth the trip. The fish were of good size and I was using a 3 wt. so it was fun. I probably should have fished Sat in the rain. A couple of guys at the bar Sat night said they were really hitting Sat in the rain. Oh well, enjoyed visiting with NoLuck and seeing his trailer anyway and stayed warm and dry!!

OK, what is it. Looks like a mayfly tail to me but what do I know?

All in all I'm ready to go back. Probably not unitl the first day of catch and release but I will be back. I think maybe we should plan a get together for lunch at the lodge at noon like we did a few years ago. It was nice to meet everyone and I still see several of them. What do you think????

I fished the same areas a lot so I probably saw you. I caught 6 sat doting the day and from 5 to 7 in the evening I caught 6 and missed a bunch in zone one during a hatch. Not sure what. Small tan Caddis I think. Anyway I threw a size 20 PED and it was great fun. Headed back at 7. Beautiful weather.

Eating at the lodge now then heading to try zone two. Caught a few but kinda slow. Crowds are light. Beautiful day!!!

I sort of feel like wussing out but I won't. Probably try to fish some Sat afternoon and stay and fish sunday. Sand Springs say they have plenty of rooms open.

Sat forecast form National weather service Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 79. South wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Sunday and Monday look pretty good. We might wait until sunday morn to come down. I'm not much for fishing in 22 mph winds in a Thunder storm any more.

Ken will be driving Sat morning so we'll be in his White Avalanche. Should get down around 10 or so sat morning. We had dinner last night and it turns out he is very experienced but has not flyfished for years.
