Sounds like a good day. I like the winter and usually head down 2 or 3 times a winter from Kansas City. Usually just a 1 day affair. It's usually very peacefull. Looked like quite a few fish down there. I'll have to ask him how far you can actually dive down there. I assumed that was about it in the video...maybe not.

Here is a video a friend of mine took on Dec 27th. I thought it was interesting. I always wondered what it looked like down there. I guess it narrows to much to go past 81 feet.

Thanks for the report Pat. I almost made it down last sat. but stayed home an went flying instead. I just could not pass up 65 degrees and no wind! I have a buddy that wants to go so I'll be taking him down to Bennet sometime this winter. Looks like the weather is finally going to turn to winter next week. Guess i better google "stetson fly"

I over heard someone at the store saying something about a concrete pad going in to prevent errosion. The fisherman replied it was stupid. I think he must have said it was handicap access right below the Dam.

Black Marabou, Size 18 or 20 midges in different colors will catch something probably. i like black zebra midges, primroe and pearl and olive green.

It's really nice if the weather is decent. Sometimes it's like your own private trout stream! I hope to get down again this winter. It's a great getaway duroing the boring winter months and the stream always looks the same even if you have to work thru snow to get there.

Fished Fridaya nd Sat. The weather was beautiful!!! The stream was low and clear. A beautiful sight! Lots of guys fishing because of the C and R opener. I guess quite afew were from the Ozark Anglers. The catching was a little slow for me but that's to be expected. On friday the all Black marabou seemed to be the ticket up by the spring. Caught a few on a black zebra midge just below holland dam on Fri. also. Sat i fished zone 3 for a couple of hors and did nada. Fished the Suzi hole and tried several things. FIANLLY caught 8 on the Blue fly. It is a medium bright blue mini jig with a white head size 14 I guess. It was one of those flys you pick up because somebody told you they were good. I hardly ever us them but decided to try on Sat. they sure liked it for awhile. I ended up by the island and caught a couple on an olive midge. All in All a good couple of days. The wife enjoyed it and we had a good meal and some shopping in Lebanon Friday evening. It was a nice get away.

Got a room at Larry's. One was left. I've tried to get in there for years. Hope it's as nice as they say since the wife is going with me.

I'm taking the Silver Egg Yaris down on Friday. The weather looks to good to miss. Might not get another chance soon. Look me up if you're going. I'll probably be up by the island.

Dennis, If you head down this winter let me know. This summer has been a wash for fishing for me. It was hot as hell, my flyfishing pond in the backyard completely dried up, and I did not make it to Bennett. Tell your Dad I'm fine and hope he is doing well. I think we all need another get together this spring!!!

Let me know Rich when you get some time this winter and think about going. Now I'm thinking it might be better to forget the opener and try the next friday the 16th to avoid the crowd. Not sure. I'll post later Pat.

I hope you guys had fun and caught lots of fish. I had a big RC fly-in I had to help with so I spent the weekend at an RC field. No fishing but had a great time with friends. I was thinking about going down labor day but probably a bad idea. Think I'll wait a couple of weeks.

I just decided to check on this tread this morning and I'm getting fishing fever. I haven't fished for months. I have the calendar marked when you are going to be there and I might make it down the 27th and 28th Monday and tuesday. I have something that weekend here. Would like to watch you guys catch fish again while I struggle......good times! Let me know if plans change. Jerry
