  1. Hi fellas! I 'm about ready for a day on the stream!!!. The Granddaughter has kept me busy all summer but we have had a lot of fun. She is almost 3 now and we have had some fun catching Bluegill and bass in the backyard. She screams every time she reels a fish in and says they will bite her. I keep telling her they do not have teeth!....you'll be OK. (when she's older I'll tell her about Northern Pike and Walleye!) I have something going on sat but may head down on a week day sometime. Take care. I'll watch the board. How's the G baby, hoosier?
  2. I have not been on the forums for awhile. I'm trying to catch up some news. I'm sorry it's bad for you PC. Hang in there!!!! You're a great guy and you'll find something soon. Jerry
  3. OK, I'm getting antsy to go now! Nice fish guys.
  4. Nice fish Cricket. I'm hoping to get down again in the next few weeks. Hard to get away right now.
  5. This does not sound good!
  6. Good report, Cricket. Sounds like fun!
  7. Love my Dry Plus Jacket. I use a Polertec hooded fleece zip up sweat shirt then the Jacket over that. I t has been nice and warm and blocks the wind. I have never owed a wading jacket before but I will never be without one now. You can even adjust the hood so you can actually see while still fishing in the rain. Most hoods just fall in my face.
  8. I have been fishing my 4 weight Konic for a year now and I love it.
  9. Heh, I look like one of those pics of big foot!!!! Caught fishing! At that point I was thinking cheese...garlic maybe? Have a safe trip out west, Rich. I did manage to catch a few Monday. The ones in the pic I caught up near the spring at 4 in the afternoon. I was drifting a yellow soft hackle in the shallow water and they hammered it. Fun for an hour or so then I headed for home. I'm ready to go back! Jerry
  10. It was cold but with sun out all day it was quit tollerable. I met Cricket, JJtroutbum, and Rich for breakfast. We had a good meal and a good visit. Cricket even brought in his new spinning reel for breakfast! He's really attached to it....really just heating up the grease. We all headed for the stream about 10 or so and proceeded to fish. Rich (noluck), jjtroutbum, and I fished until 4.00. They headed towards St Louis and I am posting this at the Lebanon Super 8. I get to fish tomorrow! Hopefully it will be alittle warmer. Rich and JJ outfished me as always but I still had a great time. I missed several up by the Gauge house on a pink egg pattern. Just could not get a good hook set. Pretty slow for a long stretch and then I caught several in the fast water in a size 18 brassie. Rich had caught a bunch on dry flies before I got there but they slowed as soon as I showed up. Like I said, I did finally bring 4 to hand in the fast water grifting a small brassie about 6 inches under an indicator. I think i'll head that way tomorrow. They definately really SLAM it in the fast water when you get a strike. The stream was busy all day but you could find a place to fish. I was not there for the horn so JJ or Cricket will have to comment on that. I'm heading to bed and I'll try it again tomorrow. The motels close to Bennett all look full so I guess a lot of guys are taking off monday to fish also. I was great seeing you guys and I hope you had a safe trip home. Jerry
  11. packed and ready to leave KC at 5:30 Tomorrow morn.
  12. thanks for the reports..gotta run for a while...check back in a few hours Jerry
  13. Snow on the ground and windy tomorrow...oh boy. guess I'l still go at this point. I am officially nuts. Cricket, How do you think the raods will be down there?
  14. Good info, brownieman. I mostly catch and release but you can bet they'll be watching.
  15. Pat, I gave 14K but that is automatic and all you can get on one..which is not much. I think they are a little higher now. good thing is 38.5 mpg driving to the trout stream. Gotta like that. I really like it for a commuter car. I drive 70 miles a day and it has been great. I have a Van for hauling my model airplanes around.
  16. Yes, that's my car. I may not make til 9:30 to Ollies.
  17. Cricket and ALL, I still have my little silver Toyota Yaris so you can't miss it. Looks like a silver jelly bean. 3 door hatch back. I have never fished the river but I'm up for anything. May be the best deal to avoid a large crowd.
  18. If things go OK I'll be down at 9:30 so I can go to Ollies then.. or whatever. You guys decide breakfast, lunch, whatever and the time and I will try to get there. Looks like the weather will not be very warm like I hoped but tolerable. I thought i would try some fishing in the afternoon. Hopefully it clears a little to get a spot.
  19. Noluck, I thought you might like that pic. I love to give people crap than can outfish me! ...and that's about anybody. What time is the meeting at Ollies????
  20. Here is a pic from last year sometime in the spring. I call it TEAM VELVEETA.
  21. Well, I just realized the opener is on Sunday. I might actually try to get down there. I'll watch this thread to see what time you are all meeting for breakfast. I would probably just wait awhile unitl the crowd clears some. I could use a day or 2 out of town.
  22. Thanks for the report. I was down Sat. myself. I didn't get there until 2:00 so I did not get much fishing in. Didn't even put on the waders!. I did catch 4 and missed 3 or 4 up by the spring at the first handicap access. I was drifting a black zebra midge. I was drifting it under a tri colored glow ball. No hits on the glow ball. I thought I saw your red truck up by the gauge house, maybe. I was fishing as fast as I could since I only had about 2 hours. The wife and I had to go to Truman lake for a trip so I went to Bennett on a whim. I had fun and the weather was OK so it was all good.
  23. Sounds great!!!! I never made it down so I'm rather bummed. I will one of these Saturdays.
  24. Sounds like a bunch of us might be there the 14th, 15th, or16th. My plans are the 14th BUT if work is a problem then the 15th (Sat) will have to be the day. I'm really trying for the 14th though. You can't miss my, almost a car, Silver Toyota YARIS 3 door hatchback. License plate says PDLCAR. We'll all know more as the day gets closer so we'll see who all is going down for sure. Oh.. and if it's snowing or below zero.. I'll be the guy that is NOT there. Jerry cell 816-260-3676
  25. I'm planning on it and wanted see if anyone else was in. Family issues screwed up my October so I'll be ready. Jerry
