stump jumper

I'm new to the forum - joined last Fall when I moved here from TN but haven't managed to get out on the water. I plan to put in at Hickory Creek this coming Sunday (June 22nd) and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the black bass patterns in this part of the lake. I'm not asking for your honey holes; only some general info. Also, are there any specific hazards that I should be aware of? Does anyone know the recent water temps? I'm most familiar with fishing for bass in shallow lakes with lots of grass so Beaver will be a learning curve for me none the less.
