Mine have been tied for about 2 weeks now but was planning on tieing a few more for you for all the trouble and I was thinking you would be fishing again before me so you might be able to tell me what you think. I dont know why you would want to take them out and mess with the crowds Terry. You seem like a funny guy so why dont you rig yourself up with a big flat top grill and some bar stools and just flipping food in their mouths (or laps or what ever else you might hit). I think that would be real entertaining. But other than that I dont have a clue on where to go in the springfield area. Too many resturants in that town I dont see how they all stay in business.

I have one but I dont wear it around my neck I have looped it thruogh on of the zippers on my vest and when not in use its in the pocket. Terry a hardware store might have some thin tubeing (like for the water supply for a fridge) if you could find a way to cut it and thread it through. Or get a pair of those wide neoprene eyeglass holders and work those into the lanyard.

Some had put the center two pecies together too tight and couldnt get them apart so they took it back to the store which means big discount for me $39 4 piece rod

I know that most of you know but the family had a reality check this afternoon. Mom was traveling south on highway 71 in the left lane when she went through a puddle and slid across the highway and down an embankment smashing a tree. She should be ok but shes pretty banged up with severl broken bones resting in the ICU. Here are a few pic of the car.

The only place I have flyfished is upper Tany. I just tied this one I was going for a dragonfly but I think i just tied crap tell me what you guys think.

its getting a little easier being a MU fan. LOved seeing the cats beating the hawks(love seeing anyone beating the hawks) but liveing in the middle of hawkcountry and seeing the tigers beating the team that beat the hawks minus 3 starters is great.

I have always taken 65 south to hollister and jumped on 265 around the backside. Have I been going way out of my way or is it about the same distance?

i tied one awhile ago that some guys on the flytieing subforum have been interested in. I havent had much time to fish so I couldnt tell you how it works. plus i have never been in a fly swap so i dont know how it works. here is a picture if you guys are interested count me in. if not just say so wont hurt my feelings is just started tieing a month ago and this was about the 6th or 7th fly i tied.

I have been reading a few post and threads about shad kills. I sounds to me like there is getting ready to be one. From reading and remebering some post last year before I joined I thought that a shad kill was like a once in ten year thing. Is that so and are we just lucky that it has happened two years in a row. Or maybe Im just going nuts and there wasnt one last year.

saturday it looked like someone was burning something up in the trees just about where the rebar hole is. looked like a lot of fireworks. I thought is was some kids messing around. But it went off for a lond time and the trees up there was filled with smoke.

the funy thing is that the peach one above it is what caught a fish. maybe i just didnt fish it right.

Didnt really have any insperation just tied the barbell eyes one and started looking at what material i had. size 06 streamer hook olive thread olive saddle hackle micro pine squirrel zonker olive barbell eyes med 5/32 bead head olive chenille not real sure how i tied it but i will try and do it again and take pics as i go along this one doesnt lok as good maybe because the other one has been wet makes a difference or I trimed the tail off wrong

I recevied a tieing kit for christmas and started messing around with it and this is what i come up with. Are these anything that resembles somthing that will catch fish.

Finally got down there about 1pm and started down by the big hole. Landed 1 brown(my first ever) about 8 in on a green scud I think(not real sure what the thing was called). Moved up to the rebar where it was bumper to bumper fishing. Had a few takes but no hook-ups on a black and silver zebra midge. Continued fishing all the way up to outlet 1 squeezing in where I could. I threw everything including the kitchen sink and no dice. Took a break and got back on the water about 5 and started throwing a pinesquirrel with 5x tippet and lost that real quick.(they hit that hard and that was the only one I had). Went to the truck a got me other rig with heavier line and tied on some of the garbage i have been tieing and finally landed a small bow about 12in. It was some sort of peach thing kind of like a bugger. I saw some people doing all right but for the most part it was a slow day for everyone I talked to and saw. Stopped into Backcountry Outfitters on the way and they gave me some pointers and set me up with a few flies(good guys). All in all i guess it wasnt a bad day I caught my first brown and caught my first fish on a fly I tied.

I take 71 to 7 to 13 to springfield then 44 to 65 thru Branson into Hollaster to avoid the Branson traffic and go around the back way on 265. Its about 3 to 3 1/2 hours depending on if those pesky cars with the flashing lights on top leave me alone.
