No' fishing in general won't be the same any more without my little fishin buddy.
My Schnauzer "Bear" was with us for almost 17 yrs. He was my shadow my wife said. Always with me either in the shop, in the truck, watching me cut the grass ,it didn't matter.
He loved it outdoors, hanging arroud our pond stiring up frogs as he waded arround it. He would watch my bobber wating for the next fish to be reeld in and start barking if the action wasen't hapening fast enough.
He loved it in the boat, I remember Dad and I took him out on Truman lake one time . We were tied up to a tree crappie fishing, Bear was walking around the edge of the deck and the next thing we know he face dives off the edge of the boat, popping up with a surprised look in his face, dad got a big laugh out of that...
But fishing the Little Niangua out of my canoe was a real joy. I remember loading up and heading out at 4 in the morning to be on the river by 7 several times, exploring different areas each time.
In 08 we went on a 3 day camping trip camping a Cedar Camp and fishing different stretches each day. On one instance I remember I hooked up to a brush pile that had a lot of floating sticks tree limbs freshly down. Well Bear decides it looks walkable so he gets out of the front seat and walks out on-to that mess, lucky I got him back in before he fell through...
"My Bear boy" you will be missed for a very long time.....
Last year pics.....
His last time on the river last year.....He had diabetes for 2 yrs...
