Rigging up the fishing aspects now. I came across the anchor trolly system. I made up some nylon pcs. to keep the rope in-line. The anchor rope slips through the ring. Next thing to get is a quick release cleat for the anchor rope. -
It sold..... I have the seats to go with it also.... The Minn Kota 17lb thrust motor works good. Asking $300.

You win the door prize, it was to late when I descovered the screw up. The plywood was glued down to the frames. Like I said it is a learning process. I guess if I thought it was perfect I wouldn't want to put it on the ozark streams and bump it on some rocks. The reclining seat out of cedar and walnut. -

The bottom is done in automotive acrylic enamel. Mistakes in the hull due to the framing, but it is a learning experience (without plans). -

Thanks for the compliments guys. Now I am trying to build a comfortable light-weight wood seat. I do have some closed-cell-foam I could incorporate into it also. I used 1/4'' slats to give it some flex. I plan on slats for the back, but it in the developmental stage now. It still feels a little hard on the tail bone. -

The wood comes alive when a clear finish is sprayed on. The fog from spraying wasent,That Bad, as the flash apeared to pick up on. Have you guys seen this sweet looking boat??? http://www.blueheronkayak.com/ I am trying to make seats now (wood ones).... -

Did the glass with left over epoxy resin and 6oz. cloth. This is the first time to do this without help. With my first boat a friend did it I just mixed the polyester resin on that one. -

When I was down their last month I put in their and fished a ways down stream. On the long stretch just around from the bridge the Gar were pretty active. With the troling motor I just motered back up past the bridge and got into some cat fishing. On the road by the bridge at cedar camp some one put boulders off to the side where you used to be able to park 2 or 3 cars. And launching a canoe (by ones self) is more difficult now. I love that river and the steep landscape (like the southern Ozarks) in that particular spot just stand out from the flatter area say around Truman lake etc. Born in Joplin and raised in K.C. as a kid we used to go down to the Elk and Big sugar back in the early 60's but that down their has all changed.... Kayaker what's you're boat look like?

More framing done I am going to cedar strip the deck and paint the hull when all is said and done. Need to go get some fiberglass resin. I weighed the plywood before assembly and it came to 20lbs the framing couldn't weigh more than 2-3 lbs. -
Well I saw a tandem Old Town kayak at Bass Pro and decided on building one for fishing the streams. I measured the depth and the width and the cockpit and went from their. I started with 1/4 of the hull and used pb. and cardboard to mock it up. Then made plywood templates off the cardboard which took considerable modifying to get things to work. The pcs. ready to assemble. 9 days later working part time on it.

Hay KCRIVERRAT that sounds cool I downsized my ride to save gas. Believe it or not this 3 cylinder toes my rig. We have a friend who has a teenage boy I want to introduce to this river sometime in Aug.

I stopped in and gave them pics. I had taken on the river Sept.20-22- 2008 nearly 2 yrs ago. I told them my dad had died in July of 2008, 2 months before John. I talked to her about how the bridge change seemed to have lowered the water level or something. Their is a ripple that can be seen upstream from the bridge that wasn't their before. That is the one bridge I didn't get a pic. of. A couple of the bridges are to low to get a canoe under (which seems silly to me) looks like they would get lodged with trees. I wonder if they changed that private (slab) bridge just below Fiery Fork. That used to have a nice deep hole, caught many a fish out of their. I would put in at Green Mills and motor up stream to that point (nearly drained the battery getting their though.)

Got rid of the blocks of wood and redid the steering mechanism. The steel shaft with the bar welded to it was scabaged from an old riding mower. The aluminum block clamped between the two angle pcs. has needle bearings in it. I got that at a go-cart shop back in 06 when I was working on my jet=ski powered TNT(Glen-L boats). The pcs. slid over the 5/8 shaft I still need to get milled down to 1 1/8'' typical of Minn Kota motors.
