I noticed when stapling the fabric (8oz. dacron polyester) it would sometimes cause a run in the stitching, it looked like it was pushing the weave into the wood. It is like uneven in the tightness of the fabric..more of something you can feel than see... ironing to shrink the fabric made it all even out... With a flash light right up along the side, the material has no wrinkles in it. Now it is ready for paint, oil based rustoleum -

Stinger Here are the specks from the web site .. The Touring Pirogue TV 15-32 .. Overall Length 15' Max. Beam 32" Height at bow/mid/stern 13"/10"/12" Rocker bow/stern 1.5" / 1.5" Recommended weight on board 150-500 lbs. Estimated weight* 42 - 53 lbs. This design is a wider version of our Touring Pirogue - TV 15-29. The 15-32 version offers more stability and load capacity. It is ideal for taller paddlers or paddlers who want to sit in a higher seat position and still have comfortable stability. -

The Perfect Solo Canoe

On my last big build the 16x36 I plan on adding a retractable foot steerable rudder to aid in fishing the small lakes..a lot of times I can angle the bow toward the shore and the breeze can push me along at that angle almost like having a trolling motor. I think a rudder would be a benefit in the wind, it could be used to slow you down also.. -

With all that side wall above the waterline on a canoe the wind is a factor, that is why I like the shallower kayak design and with a wide enough beam the seat can be raised without loosing stability...Maneuvering around fighting the wind and current to fish the streams can get frustrating at times.. With all the different hull designs I have completed it would be good to paddle each to get a better idea....tracking ..stability ..etc... -
