  1. got up this morning... looked out and it was pretty nasty looking, then it got light and the trees were iced up but the road was just wet... now the preacher called [from Galmey pomme de terre] and cancelled church just in case. Honest Tom Trtan on chanel 10 is talking about slick roads and another major ice storm. Do you think everyone is still a little skidish from last January? Just a thought... I'm bored.....AB
  2. I am new to this lake, actually lets say new to fishing I havn't fished since I was a kid. Now I've sold the farm and bought a boat. I mainly fish for crappie but would really like to find the walleye. I have been fishing mainly from masters towards the dam. A friend told me not to fish north of mutton creek on the other side, any suggestions on this and what kind of lures or bait to use is appreciated.
  3. I appreciate all the info. My wife told me to quit talking and go try it, but I think its going to have to be after Christmas.
  4. If I understand this right... they call the water by the hatchery the tail waters... with the water flowing from Table Rock thru Taneycomo to Bull Shoals wouldn't that make it the head water? I am new to trout fishing... I went on a guided trip on the White using 3 to 4" Rapallas. And I was hooked! (The trout hitting and shore dinner did it for me) Can you fish Taneycomo using the that type of river technique? Can you use regular crappie jigs under a float? What in the world is a carrot float... I stumped the fellows at Bass Pro when I asked them. I have a 19 ft G3 Jon Boat with a 115 Yamaha. Do you drift fish or anchor? They say not to anchor but we anchor below the dam at Warsaw when the water is running there and have no problems. Is it due to boat size or what? We are planning on staying at Lillies after the new years, so more questions in person. Beware.. thanks in advance...AB
  5. Just wanted to say hi, and let you know I'm brand new to this site. I like it because it has all the lakes. I live in Bolivar so I fish mainly pom. but have started trying to find walleye on stockton. My wife bought me A trout fishing trip about a month ago and had a ball. So just a warning for the taneycomo crew, Expect lots of questions, hopfully not repeats.
